I agree. Let them do the once or twice off "reunion" shows, but leave it at that I say.

For some reason I remember one of those announcements - it was after the Salmon/Ablett shootout in 1993.

Geelong weren't that bad, they played in 4 Grand Finals in the last decade of the show!

I'm actually looking forward to tonight but will probably watch 5 minutes and get bored and go play on the computer.

I have to put my hand up... I thought I'd spend the night cringing, but I actually thought it was pretty good. Darryl hasn't lost it. I used to hate him on that dancing show, but this format really does suit him... Enjoyed the Andrew Fyfe cartoons and thought Lavinia was still looking pretty hot... :D

Beyond embarrassing.

I ended up watching it all, unfortunately the show recaptured the last few seasons of Hey Hey which were crap, Im looking forward more to the next one as more of the 80s crew will be back when it was successful.
Only musical act I enjoyed was that blonde chick, Mrs Wedge said she was from Perth, different and real boppy!
Molly's dog's dislike of Dicky Knee was the highlight!

Can anyone tell me why, in 2009, somebody actually opens their wallet and pays Molly Meldrum for his thoughts about music?

Hey Hey was exactly like it was 10 years ago which is good and bad I guess. Good for all the boomers who rang up 5AA this morning, comforted no doubt by seeing Farnsey, Barnsey, Willy, Russell Gilbert and all the usual suspects (what's that? Kamahl jokes are still funny!) calling it 'brilliant', bad if you think modern day TV audiences deserve more than a game of Celebrity Heads.

I think more than the show itself most people (including myself) miss live TV with a bit of spontaneity. Graham Kennedy was the master(who ironicaly used to rehearse most of his work) but its a real art form that has fallen by the wayside and Darryl although an annoying dweeb (that barracks for a great club) does have that artform to a degree.
The jokes might be old and the skits might be tacky but I think its the live ness and spontaneity that we miss so much.
Hell, I reckon the Channel 10 Xmas appeal should come back!

Iam lucky to watch more than an hour of TV a week and that's usually sport but I sat down and watched the show from start to end last night (with a few breaks when music was on) and for almost 3 hours it took people's minds of anything important in their lives.
I don't think it would work on a weekly basis bt would love to see a suitable updated and modern version with new talent.

My husband sat there and watched it and enjoyed 'the reunion',
My 14 year old sat there and asked a lot of questions  (having no idea what the show was actually about)

and...
Oh thanks Wedgie...

Now I'm going to have that tune stuck in my head for the rest of the day !

Thankyou very much for your kind donation, thankyou very much, thankyou very, very much.....
