Not trying to stir but genuinely curious, are Bays fans asking the question Why? if Neely does end up at another SANFL club?

i'm in 2 minds with that ? 1st why LET a good player go & 2, if you clean out all remblence of last years trouble it will be for the better bearing in mind that blight did it with the crows & obviously others have done it in the past & where we finish at the end of the year will probably decide whether its good or bad in this decision of neely

If someone doesn't want to be there, let them go. If they stay their attitude will be a cancer through the club, any club, that keeps players against their will.

The James Byrne experience is fresh in my mind.....

Bad eggs always make a bad omelette.....

Having said that a good coach/ club should be creating an environment that makes players want to stay or can convince/influence a player to stay. If after that happens and a player still wants to go, there's the door, see ya, Ta Ta.....

Club is always bigger than the individual

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Mmm Omelette.
I was about to go to bed, but I think I might make one ...

Actually, the commentator on the '71 GF just used the term "scrambley"... maybe I'll try that.

How often would Malcolm McDonald say "and its a goal....no no sorry its a point". If i listened to ABC, if he said it was a goal i'd pretty much know it was a point and vice versa.

Blacky my mail was Bloods and Bays had come to agreement on transfer fee. The only problem from there would have been the offer to the player. Did Doug tell the people one thing and offer another?

Although I think my attitude on Doug is well documented on both sights, I cant see how releasing the information could have been the cause of the problem. After all it was quite well known "within"

Gary, time to strike your first blow!

If it is true about Doug. *CLAPS HIS HANDS IN A SARCASTIC MANNER* I feel that it is another stuff up and i agree with alot of people. I wish people in the club could fix this little problem.

Don't know how many people here saw the article in the paper today about this very issue, but the gist of it was Uncle Doug having a sook though because Neely wouldn't return his calls. Wonder how long it took him to get the hint?

In all seriousness we all know Doug's been a great asset in the past because of his love for Westies, noone can deny that.
Some have alluded previously that there's some sort of dodgy constitution that allows Doug to still be where he is, is this true?
Noone can deny how much Doug loves West but everyone knows that he's way past his time, is he worried that noone could do the job as good as he does.
Isn't there something the members can do?
Are there West members out there that feel Doug should stay?

No stirring, genuinely interested, it seems Westies are a very unique club.

I know one supporter that left the club in the mid 80's saying he'd never return while "Douggie Promise" is still there. in the last 20 years he's stayed true to his word, and hasn't set foot in the place again.

I do know quite a lot on this subject, and have raised it a couple of times on the other site, as well as 5aa. Suffice to say I WAS threatened with a writ!

Although I would probably win any such action, right now because of distance and time I have "publicly" backed off. Aswell the club does not need such action.

However it should be known that recent POSITIVE steps are being taken, which on the surface are transparent, but internally ONE individual is somewhat reluctantly forced to accept a loss of authority.

The Billy Neely debacle is proof of the term "reluctantly"

It appears a recent arrival in a "support role" will hold a more important position than is made public.
