well I have just stumbled across the West Adelaide page from a mate's top friends list. I must say very professional and almost a defacto web site.
do any other clubs have their space on myspace?
check it out below
West Adelaide

I honestly hope my club never has a myspace page, its just a place where people who are too lazy to do some things themselves make their web page.

I was thinking about this last night actually. Norwood have one do they not?
The bulletins would be pretty handy for news on club events - But i guess most clubs use e-mail for that anyway.

You are right about the lazy people to maintain a website................ even I can do it

.
its definitely geared to the younger fans who already have these things

Thanks for the link to the Westies page, gave me a bloody virus, typical of myspace though.
A place for teenagers too lazy to learn html or morons to make their own web page.
My daughter was putting together sites more professional than myspace when she was 8.
Any business, company, band or sporting organisation with a page on myspace is only embarassing themselves by showing how amateur they are.

i agree its a lazier than making a web page but millions of kids (literally) are making their own myspace pages. from that point of view wouldn't it be a wise strategy for footy clubs to develop myspace pages? kids who already support a team can add the club page to their friends list and then it becomes free 'word-of-mouth' type advertising. i don't know, it just seems like a smart move by westies and who ever else is doing it

Geelong shut his myspace down, some unsavoury comments that was deemed racist (looked harmless IMO) and "soft porn" pictures (Jessica Alba nearly nude... looked fine to me too!).
I think it would have been left but a journo in Melbourne started some rumblings and the club had to act.

any half smart AFL player would have their page set to private to control any peanuts trying to hijack or veiw the page. Hell even Fevola had enough brains to do that

Agreed. Any advertisement to the SANFL is good. Especially to those under the age of 21. Who cares if it doesnt look good or is written by lazy people.

I have a myspace - made it to keep up with all my mates when i moved to Sydney, and i talk the bays up EVERY chance i get. To have the logo around the place and mention them a bit in a good way can't exactly hurt a club can it!
My North supporting friend wouldn't have me in his good books right now

I don't get myspace at all...
Isn't it just infested with miserable people who want to top themselves?
... and therefore only really suitable for South fans...
