Sturt v North - to decide double chance?

I think no matter what happens between now and rd 23, this game will decide the double chance.

I think its likely that north and the eags win next week. IF sturt lose, then their clash with north is for the double chance but a win over the bays will put that to rest.

But the bays are the form team at the moment.

Gonna be a cracking last 2 weeks of the regular season.

go you blue boys!!!!!

If we win next week and Sturt and North lose, it will come down to Round 23.

That game will no doubt have a bearing on the outcome of the top 3, but Eagles are still not safe and even Glenelg could make it if Eagles lose to South and Glenelg beat Sturt next week. That will be where all the interest is with Central cemented in top spot and the 5 already decided.

Glenelg will pose a big problem to our top three chances in Round 23.

I hope North doesn't pull out one of those famous turnarounds and somehow beat Sturt as they don't deserve the double chance but Sturt do. Hopefully the matter's just put beyond doubt when Westies beat North this coming week.

As much as I don't like to make a negative comment about a club, West were playing well in the 2nd; we were shithouse and they still couldn't get the lead. As I said though, West should look forward to next season with optimism because there are some promising young players in that team.

Whoever gets there deserves it IMO

If Sturt miss (big IF) the double chance through consecutive losses to Eagles, Central, Glenelg and North (the other teams in the top 5), then they don't deserve a double chance. I am sure even the Sturt supporters will agree with that.

Can't argue with that Hondo.

I'll be extremely disappointed if we lose our last three games.

Might very well come down to %. If Sturt and Eagles both lose, North 2nd, and then % between them for 3rd and 4th. Sturt marginally ahead of Eagles before today, but behind now by a full 1.3%, about what the Eagles went up by today. Suppose this means that for Sturt to lose but still be double chance, they'd have to lose by less than a goal and Bays would have to beat Eagles by about 20 goals.

Despite some Sturt fans saying how the DB's have played above themselves and they won't be dissappointed to miss the double chance after last season, I reckon, they and more importantly the team will be absolutely gutted.

To lose 4 on the trot against the other top 5 sides and end up in 4th will be a hell of a blow to their confidence.

I would not suggest that North don't want that doulbe chance, but maybe?? it will affect Sturt more than North, to miss out. North have been up and down all season and we have relied on other results to get into this position, perhaps not expecting to get this chance. Not the same for Sturt.

Whoever loses next week will paly Glenelg. That is going to be a real toughie. The Bays have spanked us twice this year and now given Sturt a leeson. If it's Sturt who miss out, their confidence will be shot. If North miss out, they are one of those sides that can, and do, bounce back from defeat and might not be so affected.

Just a thought that's all.

mate, i dont think any of us have said we wont be upset if we miss the db chance. we will certainly be upset about it as we have been 2nd for most of the year.

next week is a huge game...blues are struggling big time while north are coming off a big win. not looking good.
