SANFL VENUES SURVEY 2007

Postby pipers » Thu Aug 16, 2007 2:10 am

I have set up the following survey to gauge the views of SANFL supporters (such as yourselves) as to what they feel is important to them when attending matches, and how each venue stacks up.

SANFL VENUES SURVEY

Please take the time to complete the survey (approximately 20-30 minutes).

The survey will close on September 10.

I will share the results with you all when the data has been pulled together, and if any significant findings are made, then this information will be forwarded to the relevant clubs.

Many thanks,
fatalberton

Just did it , doesn't take too long, hopefully respondents can be objective and not simply talk up their ground and slag off at others. For me the BBQ at Richmond gets top marks :)

Done it, only annoying part of it is having to scroll back to see which oval you're rating as its too wide for the page when rating everything.

Yeah - I saw that but couldn't seem to find a way to fix it. Also, I couldn't find a way to eliminate those venues marked as "Never Attended" in the 2nd question from the big list.

It's a "freeware" type of thing though, so presumably if I paid for the full version those sorts of things could be fixed.

But I'm a cheapskate...

For those with a grasp on English though, here is a tip: they are in alphabetical order...

And hooray for these peanuts...

Are you aware of footysa.net?
I have never heard of it 2.9% 1
I have heard of it but never visited 2.9% 1

Interesting, since the only place the link has been publicised so far is on this site!

Couldn't you split it into two questions with half of the categories in each?

The only bit of bias in mine was which is your favourite ground :)

Car parking at Richmond got top marks in mine as all I have to do is drive home and park in my garage

Where's the toilet question? then I can say Glenelg has the worst toilets in the league. Did say we had most expensive drinks and often understaffed/under stocked.

Perhaps. And perhaps I'm a peanut too. Fortunately the question in the survey refers to the correct site...

I think GFC are working on the theory that if they keep with tradition and run out of beer before 3/4 time, then no-one is going to need to visit the toliets anyway.

Having said that, the ones at the northern end are OK, so perhaps it's just that the Snouts have ruined the southern ones???

Probably - but would have taken longer to do... I did consider actually doing each venue as a separate question but decided to keep them together for three reasons:
1) Those completing the survey will possibly be more consistent and fair with answers if rating topics for each venue in one hit.
2) The way it extracts data is better if questions like that are kept together, especially if your goal is comparative analysis.
3) It was well past 1am when I "finished" it, and I really couldn't be arsed with it any longer...

54 responses, and so far the "highlights" are:

* A staggering 87% of you consider the prices at Adelaide Oval either Extremely Expensive or Expensive, yet despite this, Adelaide is the highest ranked (just over 20%) when asked to nominate a favourite SANFL venue.

* A third of respondents have not visited Noarlunga in the past two seasons.

* Almost 45% of you rate scoreboard/timeclock as "Extremely Important". I think perhaps I should have worded that one differently, as obviously these things are required at any venue, but it is interesting to see that about 30% feel that Richmond is below par in that regard.

* More than half of you think that parking around The Parade and Unley is difficult.

* Richmond is the standout leader in regards to range of food on offer!

* Norwood, Glenelg and Thebby faired poorly in the question about service and availability for catering.

* Pehaps unsurprisingly Elizabeth is the venue that has drawn the most criticism in regards to safety and security - but is it justified?

* Richmond and Alberton have the most welcoming clubrooms.

* And the high WESLO prescence must be working because Adelaide ranks higest in regards to safety & security, with Glenelg, Richmond and Woodville not far behind.

* According to your views, apart from Adelaide and Woodville and to some extent Richmond, all other venues could do with a facelift.

Oh, and some of the comments on why people dislike certain venues are priceless. LOL!

Parking at Unley is an absolute breeze, you just have to know where to go ;)
Prospect is the worst IMO
