just everyone complete the survey they have sent out on the future requirements andfeedback on the curent facilities of the stadium.
The important bit is - the requirement to enable alcohol to be drunk at your seat.
They are considering reversing their curent outdated policy, but will only do so if they get an overwhelming majority in favour of allowing what is the norm at every other SANFL & AFL stadium

Is there such a thing as SANFL membership?
Looking at the SANFL website it says there is AAMI Stadium membership, by which you can either get the Crows deal, Power deal or the ultimate deal which gets you in to all games at AAMI. With each membership you get to go to all SANFL finals and up to 4 games in the minor round.
How do the SANFL make decisions? Does it have to go through the nine SANFL clubs? The AAMI members? The AFL clubs?
I'm not sure the answer to your questions dog_ger. I suspect AAMI Stadium is a very good investment for the SANFL as are their two AFL clubs and I would imagine SANFL headquarters are based there.
If these things provide a stable base for our SANFL clubs and competition then that is fine by me. I don't mind if we only play one game a year there, or even if all finals are played at Adelaide Oval.

Fair enough, not sure why you think because I enjoy an ale, that smoking would be aligned with that.
I absolutely despise, stinking, filthy, cigarette smoke. You can still help out with the survey. My feedback actually sugested to extend the smoking ban from curent inside stadium only to at least 25 metres around the exists outside of the ground.

Kind of like that at shopping centres too. Where the no smoking area goes to about 3 metres from the outside of the exits, that's exactly where the smokers hang out, and you always get the almost blanket like feel of it as you leave (or enter).

Back to Footy Park ...
I am sure that I mentioned this earlier in the year... 'Thebby' post, becoming like Pt. Melbourne Oval in VFL.
Footy Park is NO LONGER a suitable SANFL Ground but...
I would hate to see Adelaide Oval become the only place for finals having ENDURED $ 4 for a cup of chips for my son on Saturday ("Oh, but the sauce is free").

You just about need a good credit rating before you line up

Not a problem. If you deposited a dollar in a bank account just before you joined the start of the queue, by the time you got to the end of the queue the compound interest should have covered the cost of the chips, and left enough change for a short overseas holiday. Seriously, never has a queue moved more slowly than at the convenience stand at Adelaide Oval.

Adelaide Oval for all finals, including GF. Much easier to get to by public transport, eg.tram/train and a great place to stay after game eg. casino/cathedral.
Footy Perk is only good for having a BBQ before game in carpark, yep thats the only good thing i can think of. Always hated that cold dungy place.

This is a subject that needs to be re-visited by the SANFL. It seems like the SANFL has ceded its premier venue to the VFL-AFL at present which does not seem fair, nor the purpose for which it was built for and intended.
Clearly Football Park is a good revenue source for the SANFL and it brings in funds to bolster our competition, yet considering that SANFL football is being further isolated from the venue, I dont think it is an appropriate place for the headquarters of the SANFL. The SANFL areas might as well be leased to the Crows for their administration and be done with it.
What we should do is buy Thebarton Oval outright and pour some funds into making it a first class venue and raising the seating capacity and making sure that it is suitable for night games, at the same time having the SANFL take over the Thebarton Hotel across the road and making it a neutral venue for SANFL fans to congregate. Transport has to be worked out of course, yet rather than look at all the reasons why it can be done it is time that the SANFL got a little pro active and started working on a plan to increase the popularity of SANFL football and to communicate to the fans what they are going to to do to make that happen. Giving the SANFL a first class club and centrallly located venue might well be the start that we need.

If they are going to allow grog to be taken back to your seats at Footy Park then I believe they must
1. Sell it in cups with a plastic lid [eg. like coffee]
2. Sell it in plastic bottles [like coke]
3. Have designated bays that allow drinking
because if Im sitting quietly watching a game and some bozo spills drink down my neck as he tries to squeeze along the aisle, then there will be trouble.

The problem is that the SANFL spends more money on advertising its two main interests the Adelaide Cows and the Powder than worrying about the beautiful league that it is supposed to run. Footy Park will never be filled for an SANFL grand final unless the SANFL starts putting money back to advertising the SANFL better. The SANFL needs a bigger fan base attending games each week and more people willing to become members and this will slowly happen whilst everyone cracks its with the AFL and its constant rule changes. Footy Park is really home to the AFL in South Australia

Which is great for the SANFL, I agree with you there. Yet what concerns me is that the SANFL Grand Final no longer is a sell out anymore. Yet two weeks after the SANFL season ends, they play "International Rules" to a sell out crowd. That tells me that if marketed in the right way, the SANFL Grand Final can and should be a sell out.
I am concerned that the SANFL is sitting back congratulating themselves on this great revenue stream that they have created, yet while at the same time the SANFL league is becoming more and more disconnected from the SANFL managment. I feel that we could be doing a lot more to increase crowd attendances and the popularity of the SANFL in our communties. Yet I see the management of the league simply coasting along when we need to be doing so much more.
