So many pictures being taken at the footy!
I got one at the exact same moment on the opposite side of Wedgie's picture (top)

Wow, that's pretty freaky, nice pick up!
I want an SLR like you though!

Im trying to work out what sort of timing we had going there but we easily would have had to have taken it within probably 1/50th of a second at least?

Now we just need another 98 angles at the exact same moment and we can have one of those freeze frame 3d images. Anyone?

You couldn't do that again in a million years..that's milli seconds if that.
Or it's the back of Wedgies photo. lol :D

I thinks it's .002 of a second - I might be wrong.

Have a look at the North player no 44 Motlop, his heel on one foot is not touching the ground, identical in both pics. The same with the North player opposite Motlop.

Crikey. You even got Richie's 9 to flip upside down into Symes's 6!

I had my camera set to 1/800th of a second at that time I think, might have been 1/1000th but more than likely 1/800th.

Here's another similar incident from earlier in the year at Unley, Peter Moschos took the first one to win the Messenger pic of the week, the 2nd one is one I took:

Wedgie yours is better of those two IMO - more colour with the crowd in the background and you can see the 4 players better

Yep - the bowling club at Unley makes for a pretty average background.

50% of Unley Oval makes for a pretty average background.

If you analyse closely enough you can see that Symes' foot is on the ground in one shot, but in the air in the other. I reckon the time gap is something like the time it takes Symes foot to come down the 2 inches or so. Not that I claim to be great at these things, but I make it about .09s for him to "fall" that far. Must be at least that long, bit can't imagine it being much more than that at all.

those fotos are freaky how they have been taken at the same time in 2 diff locations.

when you think about it tho, shutterbugs are always looking for the high mark or spectacular play so it may happen more than we think.

nonetheless, awesome stuff :)

Nice gets.

In the Sturt v Port one I too prefer the one with the crowd in the background. However, if it was entered against the other one in the Messenger pic comp, you'd find the judges may have chosen the one with the green fence because you can see the faces of the players. It's all about faces.
No point having a nice pic if you can't see anyone's dial.

Can the respective photographers be picked out in the background of each others' photos?

That would be the cherry on top. 8)

I looked hard but I couldn't see either photographer ... then I realised that if they got the photos they did, then they would both be behind the pack on each occasion  LOL
