WEST ADELAIDE’S SCOTT BLESING WINS ROUND 19 COCA-COLA STAR SEARCH AWARD NOMINATION
Scott Blesing from the West Adelaide Football Club has been named the Round nineteen Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee.
In just his third League match, 17 year old Blesing displayed maturity beyond his years in West Adelaide’s 54 point win over South Adelaide at Hickinbotham Oval on Sunday. Playing across half back, Scott has averaged 20 possessions in his first three League matches and has provided attacking drive through his polished skills and hard running. On Sunday he collected 19 disposals, including 11 kicks, 8 handballs, 5 marks, 3 tackles and one goal.
Progressing through West Adelaide’s underage and reserves teams, Scott made his League debut in Round 17 after a successful U18 NAB National Championships campaign in July. Captain of the U16 State Team in 2006, Blesing is one of a hand-full of Bloods’ youngsters who have shown great promise in recent weeks. Scott has adapted to League football remarkably well and in doing so has earned the Club’s Round 19 nomination.
Scott is West Adelaide’s third Coca-Cola Star Search Award nominee this season following midfielder Daniel Caire in Round 6 and Alex Hutchins in Round 13.
