In Round 20, the SANFL celebrates “CHARITY ROUND”. The League is working in conjunction with the “MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION” to raise awareness and funds for the Charity.

Children from the Make a Wish Foundation will be at all SANFL matches this weekend. The kids will have the opportunity to run out onto the ground with their favourite SANFL teams and join the Captains in the centre of the ground for the coin toss.

This weekend’s matches include……..

Port Adelaide v Sturt @ Alberton Oval (2.00pm)
Eagles v North Adelaide @ Woodville Oval (2.15pm)
Norwood v West Adelaide @ Coopers Stadium (2.00pm)
Central District v South Adelaide @ Hamra Homes Oval (6.30pm)

Make-A-Wish Foundation volunteers will be at the gates of each home ground during Charity Round selling tickets for a raffle draw with an LG 32” LCD TV as the major prize and an Apple iPod Shuffle as second prize. All proceeds raised over the weekend will go directly to the Make a Wish Foundation.

We will be even more charitable than that, Wedgie. We will let South have the first six points of the game

We got confused, thought it was last week and will therefore not be contributing this week. I hope everyone understands.

And shouldn't Norwood Vs West be on TV if it is charity round?

south should just forfeit, a 10 goal loss is better than the thumping they will get if they travel to hamra homes.

Fair enough, too. Never hurts to give as much as you can afford 8)

Geez it could be carnage at the Ponderosa this weekend and I would think a record low turn out for a visiting team's supporters too.

Go the flood South!

Glenelg should have been involved in the "make a wish" Round....we would give anything for that one to come true!

As well as a chance to donate to Make-a-Wish it is our Charity Day at Woodville Oval – this weekend when we play North Adelaide - when once again for the fourth year for everyone through the gate HILLS INDUSTRIES our major sponsor will donate $1 to the players charity – Ronald McDonald House. Also Vilis will have 1000 donuts as giveaways for the first 1000 through the gate.
On that day all the families staying at the house (Mums Dads brothers and sisters of those children who aren’t well) and those youngsters whose condition allows them to come along will be our special guests at lunch and the game.

One million donuts?

I doubt even Ladhams could eat 1,000 donuts!

Good giveaway - that should ensure 950 North supporters get a sweet treat upon entry!

Like your style Fatal - even i'd be pushed to scoff a 1000 but i'd try!

BPRBB - i hope a lot more than 950 Rooster fans are attending and very happy if they enjoy our hospitality (but go home without the 2 points.)

All fans attending also have the chance to win an LCD TV from the Good Guys and Members Equity Bank - fill in the coupon - available from the Clubroom Bar (downstairs)

What you hope the Eagles have less than 50 of the first 1000 people to the game?
Crikey cd I thought you'd be aiming at better than that!

Wedgie - after i've got to the donuts wont be many left anyway! Hopefully we will get a bumper crowd on saturday regardless of the TV coverage.

Check out the article in todays paper re our work at Ronald McDonald House - i'm on the roster this week for cooking the BBQ for all at the house and the visiting players - the club provides the meal at no cost to the folk at the house. - hopefully my cooking will be OK not my usual charcoaled BBQ efforts.

I did, fantastic article and well done to the Eagles for that, really going above and beyond the call, great to see.
And well done to the others in the SANFL who contribute and well done to the Advertiser for the article as Im quite often critical of them not putting more good news articles in the paper.
I know North contribute to the Make a Wish foundation with every home match raffle and Im constantly amazed at the work Barrie Robran does for charit not to mention the fantastic stories I hear about Russell Ebert visiting sick/dying people in hospital who idolise him.
