Bandwagon Gone ...

Postby LPH » Mon Aug 13, 2007 1:08 pm

I know that the 'toodle-pips' will be spruking about "only one game... great season so far... etc" but...

Has the bubble burst for Blues ???

I can't see them winning another game this year. Finish 5th, out in Elimination Final.

Port this week, although Port's form has been up & down, is their last chance this week (they will be up for it), then Centrals @ Elizabeth ( is dogs 2nd last game & will be 'fired up' ), then the Bays @ the bay ( Glenelg running red hot @ moment, one of the form teams of the comp. ) then finally North @ Adelaide (last round, haven't won their in 2 tries, North will need to win to consolidate double chance ).

Then play the bays in Elimination Fianl & get rolled.

All results in the 'bandwagon' being bid "toodle-pip" for another year

P.S. Seems that Sturt are suspect to Finals type body on body pressure, based on BOTH games v Eagles this year ( they have become the 'Eagles Bitches' )

I think the Eagles well and truly had the wood on Sturt before Saturday's game.
Maybe the Eagles have to demerge as has been suggested before, give a few other teams a chance!
Also would get rid of the Eagles current identity crisis (ie where do you play your home games)
At the recent Norwood-Eagles game sat near a bloke with the old Torrens clobber on, Bruce Lindsay badge and all. Sort of bloke who probably wouldn't be caught dead wearing the tri colours.

There is no doubt that you are bogey side of the past few years and every team has one usually !!!

But as for finals type pressure we were probably only really broken down in the last qtr on Saturday - even though we lost on the weekend I really am not to fussed about losing to the eagles by a few goals in a minor round match !!!
It is what it is !!!

given that the wheels have well and truly fallen off the sturt bandwagon and that sturt are the Eagles bitches, then it was a pretty poor effort by the Eagles on sat.

you may have seen both games against your hybirds but the dogs game at unley was also just finals like intensity that I have seen anywhere this year.

The Next few weeks are critical to giving us momentum into the finals. What is the point of beating a side all year then only to crumble against them in a final??? you Eagles will keep until it counts

Just a reminder that any teams running for the finals race only need to win the ultra important clashes when it counts, e.g. 2002 Grand Final v Centrals, couldn't beat em all year previous to that! We're not done yet Desperado!
Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.

I'll bite...

Losing by 15 points to last years premiers...hmmm...yeah, we're in real trouble...

I'm very confident that we'll make amens when we meet in the finals. You're a rare breed LEH, I find most Eagles supporters to have at least half a brain.

Yes, i agree Clarrie most eagles fans are quite level headed....not this one. This years comp has proven that making outlandish statements is likely to come back and bite you on the bum... Already banked the points for the final round clash between the Eagles and Glenelg??? 8)

I can not agree with what LEH is saying, but you can not say he is on a bandwagon. And you should know why because win lose or draw he is always at the EAGLES games.
He has even rung the dynamic dunder heads on AA and talked about his and my beloved EAGLES.
How many of those BLUES FANS eating and drinking in the DINNING room at the top of the BRADMAN Stand are bandwagoners!!!

Blue boys you are dead right - every team has one. I think LEH is hoping it's Sturt that falls over and misses the third spot as he is obviously worried about the Eagles not being able to beat North this week which will make it almost a cert with a 2 & a half games gap if we win that North will sew up the double chance.

A bravado post indeed LEH and you may be getting well ahead of yourself writing off Sturt after the Eagles just "fell in"!

From the point of view of another EAGLES fan who watched both games Saturday.Sturt can not blame anyone or anything for losing except themselves. Both Sturts teams in seconds and league died /stopped/went missing in the last quarter of each game. At the 20 minute mark(or there abouts) of the last quarter in the seconds Sturt had that game won so far in front no chance of losing with the time left on the clock, but they lost .And both of Sturts teams had trouble kicking straight in front of goals.
Sturts coach was quoted on the advertsier site as not knowing if it was fitness or a fade out.
You can run us EAGLE fans down say what you will about merged teams .I'll just look at the score board at the end of each game guys. Because the fans of the teams that beat the eagles seem a lot better winners than the fans of the losing sides trolling on the net  .
Have a good one guys.

Really? You should have heard all the cows supporters calling 'baaaaaaaaaaaallll' in front of the Chappell Stand on Sat!
There was a plethora of 'ginger' too.

LEH, have you forgotten already? We were pre-season favourites for the spoon!

On another note though, kudos to the big fat ginger iggles cheersquad bloke who mistakedly knocked Alex flat on the cement in the Chappell stand terrace on Saturday and helped him to his feet and made sure he was aok...champion
