Very interesting, Scott, although I guess it is hard to make a conclusive comparison with so few games. (I presume it is 14 games across the 3 leagues, not 14 from each?)
The stats could be biased by different weather conditions and which teams are playing the games you take.

Yeah only 14 over the three competitions. Will update at the end of the footy season, which should provide us with a better comparison (roughly 35 games).

Probably a lot quicker at getting the ball back into play after a goal, boundary throw in, or ball up.

The stat I fond interesting is that the SANFL has a lot more loose ball gets and less hard ball gets than the other leagues.

Id like to see a stat about the standard of umpiring!!! The SANFL would lose that one by a long way! Our umps are shocking.

It might be higher scoring in the matches selected, but there are less scoring shots (which means the SANFL is more accurate)

Round 13 - Central District v Norwood
Round 14 - Norwood v North Adelaide
Round 15 - Sturt v South Adelaide
Round 16 - Norwood v South Adelaide
Round 17 - Glenelg v South Adelaide
Round 18 - South Adelaide v Port Magpies

I have Round 19's Sturt v Eagles game on DVD ready to do probably tomorrow, and a WAFL game tonight on ABC2.

BTW, in the VFL there's less backwards kicking because they don't pay a mark for backwards kicking the defensive half of the ground, and I believe the SANFL is the only competition not to stop the clock when a ball-up is called (I think the VFL and WAFL have taken on board the new AFL timing rules, leading to slightly longer stanzas).
