timmy ginever...we thank you for our win & the pack of cards

Postby bayman » Sun Aug 12, 2007 9:05 pm

yes the players had more than trying to consolidate a place in the top 5 today on their minds, as at the last clash of these two clubs (drawn match) tim said quite clearly (it was a tv game) at both 1/4 & 3/4 time that "these blokes will crumble if you keep hitting them" & at 3/4 time it was "keep hitting them as they'll fold like a pack of cards" the boys were shown the footage on monday night & had a steely resolve to change their thinking of us

so thank you timmy you helped set us up, on our way to victory

Also well done on having a loose man in defense during the last quarter...

How is this arrogant exactly?? Surely any team who is in contention to make the 5 would be looking with their eye on the flag?

Well, it is true that the other teams won't want to play PAM in September. After all, as PAM won't be playing finals it would mean that any team playing them in September must just be playing some form of scratch match and not participating in finals *grins*

I think you'll find all coaches say similar things every year.

Not too many go out and say, this side wont fold like a pack of cards, they're invincible, don't even bother trying lads.

True. They should perhaps be aware of when the tv cameras are on them as it could be used as motivation by the other team and count against them in future matches.

I disagree, if they're doing their job correctly they shouldn't even be aware of any tv cameras or other things happening when addressing their players.

I was thinking the same thing... odds before the match were Port $1.53  . Sure Glenelg were bad against Westies but they showed yesterday that beating South at Norlunga is hardly reason to think that your season was back on track.. Port kicked straight and Glenelg were a little bit off so it could have been much worse for Timmy.

Dont get too cocky yet Bayman, you're no certainties to win another game this season. Three hard hames coming up. Port still have Norwood and West. If we get over Sturt this week, you could start to feel the pressure a bit...
