Rumour has it......................

Heard a couple of whispers down Magpie land.Neither of them sound very good.
1: Bullen wont be down at Alberton this year. The $ (allegedly,by all accounts) weren't forthcoming.
2: Alvey is far from a certainty.

As I said,rumour has it.............

(And we could see the return of Nigel Feigert)

It would be interesting whether all this talk lately about salary cap investigations has scared port into cutting back some of the 'big spending' it has so far apparently done. If this is the case then these rumours could quite possibly be true. 6 or 7 years ago when the eagles were found to be breaching the salary cap we were fined a large sum and since then, the few recruits we have targeted have been low profile players since a further breach would see us with an enormous fine. My question about port is how are they able to afford these ex-AFL recruits when only a few years ago they were crying poor and rattling tins for $2 donations???

It wouldn't surprise me if Fiegert returned (Why did he retire in the first place????). He was playing good football in his last year and I saw him many times watching the maggies play.

Late last year someone put forward a rumour regarding ex-magpie thug Steven Carter training with the Eagles. Can anyone confirm whether or not this is true? God I hope not!!

MrF .. Iirc I think you'll find Fiegerts departure from Alberton was mainly due to his father being ill, more than anything else

Yes Fiegert's dad was ill BUT the absolute truck load of coin he was getting from Lucindale must of had something to do with it. That is 2 good players that have left Lucindale in the past couple of weeks.

Without a valid contract from Port suddenly Norwood's offer to Bullen and Alvey of three oranges and a large hammock to play for us in 2006 is looking good. Fingers crossed.

........mmmmmm, and the Power make a loss the year after winning a flag, no return to the SANFL again, I wonder, nah of course they wouldn't have.

Back on the topic,I thought two of the bigger SANFL recruits for the year perhaps not coming would be a talking point.

I'm pretty sure it will be Booney if it eventuates, I guess most people are holding back on thoughts and opinions until it's something that does/doesn't happen for sure ... Would no doubt have an impact on some people's predictions for the Magpies in 06!

I was told yesterday that Alvey has arrived already and is working as a barman (not sure where) as he gambled, I mean't spent his sign on fee and was short of funds. He is apparently not happy about coming to Adelaide but Port offered him a better financial deal than he was going to get by playing in Wentworth - so the story goes.
