Not half as bad as the drawings, still not flash but a hell of a lot better than I was expecting:

I hate it - can't work out why our normal big V jumper is not good enough? The supporters tops are even worse!

I'm glad it's just a one of. I cant see how a dot painting of lizards can represent a club called "The Roosters" I always thought the candy stripes had too much white, but this has got heaps more, it will be interesting to see what they fetch in the auction for Waikelin's.

They look excellent. Wouldn't want them as the normal jumper, naturally, but for a one-off, they're great. Shows creative thinking, trying something new. Good work, North!

I like them. It is small little marketing improvement that needs to be done more often in the SANFL. Good work Norf!

And seriously having left Darwin this year and umpired in the comp, If you don't win by five goals easing up, burn your season ticket and look forward to 2007
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I reckon we'll get flogged, training in dry conditions and with the comp up their in the middle of their season with all the players used to the wet ball.
The NTFL used to regularly beat/push SANFL sides when the SANFL was at its peak, I think they've even pushed a few VFL sides and have beaten AFL sides with the inclusions of a couple of allstars.

Don't think I'll be burning my season ticket though, we're quite loyal at North and don't get too excited about a exhibition game. Still can't wait for the trip though!

Ditto,

I think it would have to be an exceptional effort to win up there this time of year.

Postby bayman » Tue Jan 17, 2006 9:04 pm

why not have it as your away jumper throughout the year ? as all clubs should
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

I think its ok. At least it's better than our old 80's guernsey and the eagles shocker that they wore against North at Prospect.

Definatly not something I'd like to see worn on a regular basis, but I wouldn't mind seeing the old white with red V resurected for away games, as long as the V was up high like the original. Having said that though, North's guernsey doesn't clash with any one elses.

Agreed about the white jumper, our best ever IMHO.
Also agreed we don't need an away jumper as we're not even close to clashing with everyone being the only team that is predominately red, it would only be a marketing exercise so might as well as do what North do now and have a different heritage top every year for 1 game.

Their problem will be fitness, last time a SANFL team played up there it was Norwood in 2000, Norwood won by four to five goals as they ran out of legs. FWIW Norwood came fifth in 2000 in Rocky's first year

So maybe I got carried away a bit about burning the ticket, but seriously the comp up there is not as strong as what it once was and it is a very divided comp up there that has a lot of issues.

Footscray only won by 2 goals last year when it pissed down all night - the rain brought Foote-scray back to the NT level

I'm deadly serious when I say you should win, certainly despite my clubs performance over the past couple of years I would be disappointed if we couldn't beat them, and that is based on watching the comp very closely over the past three seasons from an umpiring point of view.

Well I expect more rain, it tends to do that in the wet season.
And although I might blow North's trumpet at times I can assure you we're not within 2 goals of the Western Bulldogs hence we will lose.
