McIntyre back in the two's after the Crows "insisted" he play only half a game in the ressies. Good to see Coulter in for his first game this year as well.

Barring no more injuries and suspensions we will have our appointed Capt Wintle and Deputy Brett White pushing for Senior selection along with Coulter, Walker McIntyre. I wonder if Lonie will be rested enough by next week to get back in the Power side or will he be allowed to have a run at North? I suspect he had something planned for his meid-season break like a little holiday in Vic to see the rellies etc. Still he was never expected to be available for North selectionthis year and he has hardly set the world on fire. He is a small bonus but all he does is keep a more honest harder working player out and we an win without his input.

As highlighted by a poster on the Roost (Mic), I wish to personally apologise to the North and South legends for a SANFL league oval having cars around the oval, I bet some of them think, "has the SANFL slipped so much that we now have Cars around an oval" - as they would seen once they retired from SANFL footy and goone and played in the country??? Now they're back on a SANFL ground and we have cars around the oval at a state league footy ground.....

Some smarties in the Gambling Room have made some excellent $$$ on this game before it has even been played!!!! 8)

For those that dont visit the threads down there you may still be interested in this -

Tuesday night Sportsbet opened their SANFL market with North Adelaide $3.05...by Wednesday morning word had made it to the G/Room and they were backed into $2.90, by 10.00am everyone was all over this and backed into $2.40, 10 minutes later the market got taken down by Sportsbet (and probably a stern phone call to their market assessor!!!)......later in the day they reopened the market with North at $1.70 and South at $2.10  ......this is when the smarties who got North at $2.40+ stepped in and backed South at $2.10, therefore ensuring they could not lose no matter what the result and got a risk free profit.....amazingly they have now shortened further and current odds are -

NA $1.62
SA $2.25

The jury is out whether they just stuffed up the market and put the wrong team against the right odds, or they thought this is what the market should have been or there has even been the suggestion it was a deliberate ploy to advertise their odds (very expensive way to do it!)

Good post - does make you wonder? North should have started favourites in the betting because it's been awhile since South have beaten us anywhere regardless of where this game is played. On paper we have a much stronger line-up plus we sit third currently and they are out of the 5 which surely indicates we are the more "in form" team. Why would it be that difficult to lay obvious odds?

Wish they selected Handby. Cant work out why he is not in. Not our worst player out there this year.
Tough game. Do or die for the South boys. Lets hope they step up this week.
If beaten, close the shop for the year.
C'mon boys get it together!! :D

Agree with you Southee, Hanby going was our best player against the bays now playing in reserves!
South had promised a lot this year and not delivered.

this time last year the eagles and dogs were around the same spot and made a late run it's time for us to do the same. can only hope we play good football and not think the weather will do it for us. ie when kicking with the gale!

cmon on south... :? :?

Obviously South have shown a bit in the last couple of weeks. With the talent they have I guess they shouldn't really be written off at this stage of the season (the fact I have already done so in another thread may come back to bite me...) I reckon a loss for North would cause a few alarm bells to go off though...

As for cars around the oval, we have to accept the fact that crowds are only 10-20% of what they were in the golden years... At least having cars parked in the outer fills in what would otherwise be a very empty space...

Bit harsh Taz. I reckon an outer packed with cars looks far better than an outer which is empty, which would otherwise be the case.

Handby started the year really well, and I believe would be high up in early magarey voting.

its quite strange, in the game against glenelg he was on for 5 mins, sitting down for 20 mins and then on for 5 mins off for 20 mins.

I think the coach realised he was in dire straits and needed to do something to get results.

Im thinking that the sturt board are pretty happy that didnt sign Pyman.
