ABC Commentary Today

Just watched the first quarter of the coverage today and it was interesting to see Soders and Michael Maney swapped possies today but I thought both did great jobs in their swap, good to see they've got such a professional coverage that they can swap with a minimal of fuss, I think Paul Blandis needs to take a page out of their (and Lifes) book in commentating, no offence meant personally as I think Paul does a great job on the morning sports shows and the C31 Total SANFL show.
Sad to hear Ian "Moggy" Moggridge missed his first day as stats man in a decade. Well done to Chris Kendall in taking over but Ive heard that Moggy might be fighting the Spanish Dancer at the moment and I hope he gets better soon and I hope to hear him giving out his great stats on the ABC very soon, no disprespect to Chris Kendall who did a fine job today, also nice of him and Phil H to say Hello before the game today.
We've got some very fine people in the media looking after the SANFL at the moment and I hope everyone appreciates them as much as we should be.

I have always thought the guys on the ABC do a fairly good job and its just their occasional guest comments man that lets them down. Now I must move on to 5RPH's coverage on friday nights game. All comments I've read on here regarding Paul Blandis are spot on. He is a virtual joke and I'm afraid his side-kick DB has run his race and is gone, washed up, finito and should step down gracefully. I think Smithy could survive with better support. Dont get me wrong, I appreciate they are doing it for virtually bugga all but I feel the coverage needs work.

Poor old DB had himself in a tangle when he tried to say "Smithfield Crash Clanger" 3 times in 30 seconds....

On a similar tangent full marks to the producers/camera men at the ABC, I was a bit critic of their camerwork in the past where they seemed so intent on the close up shot that they quite often missed out the actual ball but that doesn't seem to be an issue amy more.

I thought it was a terrible move to swap Soders and Maney. Good on them for trying something different by put Maney back in the commentary box ASAP and give Soders back his brollie.

I rate maney highly as a caller.

I heard that Blandis couldnt even tell the difference betwen Alleway and Weatherly the other night at the parade.

It should have been easy, Alleway was the one taking the marks and getting the kicks!!
