Latest Start to a SANFL Finals Series Ever?

Postby Wedgie » Sun Jan 01, 2006 9:34 pm

Here's one for spell check and the other historians, will 2006 be the latest start ever to a SANFL Finals Series.
The first finals game is scheduled for Sunday September 17th.
My memory is cactus but I'm sure this is the first time at least in my lifetime that they've commenced after my birthday (16th).

Its a pity Glenelg have a bye in Rd 22 as they could have bragged to at least playing 2 games in September otherwise.

Does that mean the SANFL GF is not on the long weekend? It might be good if we arent and can get to play GF on a weekend with out the Slowdown the day after.

The Gf clashes with Bathurst- booo! :( Also no long weekend for premiership revellers, just as I well that I book holidays every October, makes it easier to recover and get to the chimney! :partyman:
