Does anyone have any stats on how teams travel for the rest of the year after having the bye in round 1? Is it generally a major disadvantage?

It think it has something to do with the SANFL looking to maximise attendances in rd 1

Great stuff, Cheers for that Mal. With the bays having the bye this week I'll join some of my mates at Broadspectrum. I'd love to go Thursday night but ironically I'll be working about 300mtrs further down the parade till about 10 oclock.
Cheers to spell_check as well

How does that compare over the same period compared to after a "normall" bye Spelly?

That would take me too long to figure out!
Ecky can use the filters better than me, he's a pro at that.

There's been 22 first round byes and only 11 have made the top 5 whilst 11 have made the bottom 4.
Basically if you have the bye in round 1 you have a better chance of finishing nearer the bottom than nearer the top.
The stats just prove the general train of thought in that the team/s who have the Rd 1 bye are a week behind development wise other clubs.

I'd be interested in knowing how a round 2 bye effects clubs. Pre-season play round one then stop. Does it effect momentum?
