As announced by Mighty Eagles on the Eagles News 2 thread, the Eagles have a new look this year, I like the look of the new home guernsey but am unsure about the new away one. Punky will be happy as there's definately green in both of them!

Brilliant! An interesting footnote to the other thread about heritage guernseys. They are bold and striking and pay respect to the heritage of both clubs. With the old guernsey, the abstact Eagle may have looked funky close up, but from a distance or on TV it just looked like a green smudge. Well done Eagles.

Will that be 7 different guernseys (not including the 3 heritage tops) they've worn in premiership matches since their inception?

The Eagle is back, bigger, brighter and bolder than ever. Congratulations Eagles, definately the best guernsey designs in our clubs history. I'm presuming the guernsey pictured left is the home strip and pictured right is the away or clash strip. Maybe we should be looking at a new logo at the same time but. I think the old one is looking outdated and is time for a change.

It would be 7 different jumpers incl the 3 heritage jumpers

Plus two of those jumpers have been premiership winning jumpers

New jumpers look great. As an old WT fan I always thought there was not enough green on the Blue jumper, and had thought about how I would change it.Well thats exactly what I had thought of and wanted ages ago.
Not sure about the Blue V on the Gold jumper, I think Blue trim, numbers and shorts would have been enough.
At least they are looking like a real footy jumper instead of a basketball top......keep it simple.
Well done Eagles, cant wait to see them in action.

interesting but pretty good...i like the home one...pretty simple but bold all the same with teh big eagle in front and large tri colour areas.....the away doenst sit with me as good as the other one but both will certainly help the greenies come out!!!

Yep - home one is definitely a winner. Away one - the yellow clashes with the eagle. Perhaps leave the eagles off? I can't see the home guernsey clashing with any others anyway, except maybe Glenelg's at a stretch.

Perhaps the Away jumper should have had just a blue Eagle with the green top and yellow bottom.
But lets give the jumpers a chance first .

* on a guernsey for a team nicknamed the eagles

What's the bet that come 4.05 tomorrow afternoon, KG and Cornes will say that they don't like it.
Then Chris will ring up and have his say.

Much better than the smudge pattern of the old jumper.

Nice looking guernsey but still a crap looking eagle though IMHO. A silhouette eagle shape like the heritage guernsey would look better from a distance than that weird looking thing.

Bzzzzzzzzt, Wrong, its pretty sad when I have a better knowledge of Eagles guernseys than their own supporters!!
1. Original design in 1991 with green on top blue on bottom with thin eagle and line in yellow half way down (see Collville in header)
2. Footscray lookalike
3. Blue design with smudgy eagle
4. Yellow design with smudgy eagle
5. White one off guernsey worn in Rd 17 2005
6. New predominately blue guernsey
7. New predomintely yellow guernsey
No heritage guersney mentioned.

As i said last week in my Eagles News post would get people talking. Dont know of any team to change jumper after winning a premiership - another first maybe?

It may have been more effective to simply reverse the green and the blue for the away jumper, then you would just have to ensure the umpires didn't clash and the eagle would still stand out.
