He's done it again... Last year he wanted the Adelaide Crows to enter a reserves team in the SANFL and have the Power at the Magpies. This year he wants a new team ... the Woodville Crows. He even goes so far as to name a line up containing Hier, Lomas, Jarrad etc. along side Stevens, Sellar and Perrie and co. What a fecking idiot... :-k

Hey at least he thinks outside the square and is prepared to put some ideas out there, unlike many journalists who simply wait for mistakes and then go to town...without him the mini league wouldnt be back

doesnt mean you have to agree with him but the article obvously worked....you read it!!!

Just because you read an article, it doesn't mean it works... And I didn't buy the paper...

It's basically an insult to the WWTFC and the SANFL competition. McDermott is an idiot. As are those supporters blinded by the fact he played in black and gold to justify his pathetic "journalism" career.

Sadly, I think that McDermott's article has just proven that REB's deadly sin #6 was right on the money. :(

Seriously, has that team been named back to front in the paper?

I'd rather read McDermott's articles than Amanda Blair's or Rebecca Wilson's.
Mind you, I'd rather stick hot needles into my eyes than read anything from Amanda Blair or Rebecca Wilson.

Yeah, Bones can be a tad on the eccentric side at times...
Well at least we don't get Phil Carman writing for the paper anymore!

Its better than some of Jarman's crap in the past too.

Yeah,
I think it's an idea that has some merit.

But we've gone to far down the track with what we've got now for it to happen.

Agree with Wedgie on some of the other crap thats printed. Although, i find Jar's style mildly amusing.

Hate how they use the crows entering the SANFl would be the best thing for the SANFL.

Is that really your motive ??? former crows captain turned obsessive Chris Mcdermott.

Does anyone write well? The only reason I would ever get the advertiser is to read footy articles. So how crap can it be?

Doug Robertson does a good job.

I'm sure the old Woodville fans would love their side becoming a Crows Reserves team.

I dont think it does at all actually. I cant see many WWT members voting for the clubs to be de-merged at all. I cant see the WWT heirachy being ok with it either. Thebby Oval is nowhere near ready enough to hold regular SANFL matches if Torrens end up back there. Its a very ill-thought idea which he took from a call from 5AA during the week.

The idea of a Crows and Power reserves team has some merit if it can be thought out properly. Splitting up WWT is not an idea with merit.

I'm as thoroughly Woodville as McDermott is thoroughly stupid and I am appalled by the notion of using the Woodville name as a plaything to solve a corporation's problems.

Glenelg have been crap for the last 15 years and the Martians will have landed before South win a premiership - so write a piece of tripe about these two clubs merging to solve any dilemma, Bonehead.

I get the Advertiser primaraly so I can read the Calvin and Hobbes Comic each day! :D

If I happen to see an article on any type of football and it has Michalangelo Rucci's name on it I dont bother to read it. I dont like the way he writes and he just seems to rub me up the wrong way.

Zac Milbank is one who I dont really have an opinion on yet, seems ok so far.

Doug Robertson is without doubt the best football writer in any paper, his articles are well researched and written and he doesnt take cheap shots in order to generate publicity.

Kevin Sheedys articles in the Australian were not too bad, yet he is not the same as he once was which is a pity.

Robert Walls can also have some interesting opinions at times!

Bone to all your ideas

Woodville supporters won't want to demerge for the reason that they wouldn'tnt have a premiership then. :P

Don't call him Loopy call him a plagerist but he ain't loopy. This idea has been around in the media for over 10 years....

FFS when Sturt were dying in the arse in teh mid 90s they were saying make them the Crows reserves team....

Will never happen because of what what happened in WA 10 years ago when South Freo got the Dockers players and Clarement the Weagles and they dominated the comp means the SANFL will never allow the Crows and Powere players to be wholey and solely at one club......

Put this idea to bed now until another slow Sunday next Summer when Hook or Jesper Fljested get a brain wave for an Sunday Mail Feature.....

FWIW Bays wont be merging anytime soon, not when we made a six figure profit on the back of a five figure profit last year....

In the words of Yazz and the Revolution, The only way is up for the Bays in 2007

Do think that some of McDermott's ideas have merit but most of the time he's the Ian Dickson of sports journalists - he just says things that are going to be considered controversial.
