Mini-League back?

It seems that the reaction to the demise of the mini-league has had the desired effect. All the signs are that it will return in 2007.

This was originally a decision of the clubs, not the SANFL and I think a few clubs have been a bit surprised at the strength of the reaction.

Perhaps one or two clubs should reflect on how they came to make this decision originally, especially a club north of the city, but not too far north :)

All 9 clubs voted to disband the mini-league at the SANFL despite the apparent about face of one or two since the decision was made public. Go ask your clubs CEO to show you the minutes of the meeting it was decided and voted on.

As for your crack at North - how about inferring the involvement of the other 8 clubs including your club. Don't single out one club - a rather gutless snipe IMO. For your info our CEO was very forth coming at the members information forum held prior to Xmas in explaining the decsion and how it came about and the fact that all clubs and the SANFL agreed to disband it.

You're right, BP, but my comment was directed at the Club who led the charge.

I stand by what I said.

Jimmy, I'm positive it will be back.

That is drawing a long bow to accuse North of leading the charge but of course your squeky clean morally upright community leading club would point the finger at anyone else. It wasn't even our club who tabled the matter!

At the end of the day all 9 clubs and the SANFL hierachy agreed to disband it despite what views the individual clubs had. If your club and some others were so passionate about it then maybe they should have spoken up and voted to retain it at that time not turn into spineless noodles now in the face of public comment, even the SANFL couldn't give a straight answer via Leigh Whicker and Glen Rosser in recent media interviews.

For what it's worth North will abide by what ever decision the the SANFL decides on this matter but presently and based on the most recent league decision which was to disband the mini-league that's where we sit. If the league resurects it then there will be mini-league at Prospect - simple as that.

Interesting that you think Glenn Elliott leads the other club's CEOs.
More of an insult at the other 8 club's CEOs than North, perhaps they should grow some balls and lead some aspects of the SANFL themselves if your mail is correct? Sound like a bunch of sheep.
Baaaa.

It was a braindead total lack of forethought to consider scrapping it in the first place!
Took a little time, but common sense & public backlash prevailed! :-k

You're sure are you?
Want to make a bet on that Dutchy?

The title from GM to CEO has been gradually changed in the last 10 years, Glenn has always been a CEO, no offence mate but Ive had a bit more to do with him over the years than you have. Its a pretty interchangable name at the clubs that have different titles though and beside the point I made. You should perhaps pay more attention to what happens in the SANFL. ;)

And if you don't believe me (and I'll save you some money being the good guy I am) feel free to check out North's official site to confirm:

http://www.nafc.com.au/about/officials.asp

And if you think North are only a one off feel free to check out the official news release for when West announced their new CEO in August last year:

http://www.westies.com.au/files/Announcement%20of%20new%20CEO%20WAFC.pdf

Kris Grant is also referred to on the CDFC website as their CEO as is John Kantilaftas on the WWTFC official website as is Matthew Richardson at the Magpies.

South still refer to Ben Kavanagh as a GM though and the other clubs websites didn't have quick to find info.

lol, Matty doesn't mind the Bays (don't tell Punky) and he doesn't mind South and he's resigned to not playing mini league for the Roosters, I promised him I'd pay the grand or two it is to get a transfer for him if he shows a bit of promise as a youngster to head out to Prospect.
(we're actually almost on the border of South, Glenelg and West)
He's more worried about getting picked up by the Power in the draft though as he wants to play for the Cats.
The worries of a 7yo even before they play competitive footy!

Now, alright Im just going on what the advertiser refer to them as, and they have referred to Glenn as GM many many times, but then again it is the Advertiser....

Glenn and his son play for the same cricket club as me, so I do having "something to do with him"

"Pay more attention to what happens in the SANFL" WTF does this mean??? As you said a few of them are known as GM's!!!!
