Channel 31 and Total SANFL Show in 2007 - SUPPORT IT!

Last year “Total SANFL†on Channel 31 proved to be a big hit for me as a passionate supporter of the local competition. Why?
1. Chris Kendall and his guest panellists provided insightful analysis of all Friday night and Saturday games and previewed the Sunday games.
2. Who could forget the stakes growing higher each week as Joe Pedler was encouraged to drive forward and kick his first goal in league football?
3. Guests from the clubs, including coaches and players, were always great.
4. We all waited to see if Jars would make an appearance – in vain however!
5. Volunteer Day featured a long time Westies stalwart appearing on the show on behalf of all club volunteers
6. The grand final breakfast show at “Heaven†– all those who went had a blast! The mini-olympics and Brett Backwell doing an appearance with his Magarey Medal (and his eye candy girlfriend in tow as well) were all good fun.
7. The Grand Final footy marathon featured some classic games and highlights the night before the biggest game of the season.
8. The show promoted club functions each week.
9. The show provided a platform for aspiring broadcasters and commentators to strut their stuff
10. The show had a strong relationship with 5RPH – the radio station that broadcast over 50 SANFL games last season.
11. The show screened highlights not just courtesy of the ABC but also courtesy of Pine Lodge Studios.
The 2007 season will prove to be a slightly tougher challenge for the show however because unfortunately the channel is not able to fund the running costs. This will mean that financial support for the show will have to be sought from other areas.
This is the only dedicated SANFL footy show on Adelaide TV. Year one was great and provides a perfect foundation and springboard for an even bigger and better show this season. So who can you lobby for financial support of the show?
1. Write/ring/email your club about your enjoyment of the show and/or your desire to see the show run again in 2007.
2. Write/ring/email the SANFL and see if just a small portion of the squillions of dollars generated by the AFL clubs (of whom the nine SANFL clubs are all equal shareholders) could be directed towards the running costs of the show.
3. Write/ring/email Channel 31 to express your ongoing support of the show for 2007.
4. Mention the show to potential sponsors and advertisers.
5. If you are using John Platten’s printing company, using Pine Lodge Studios for audio-visual work or visiting “At the Toss of the Coin†in Malvern or indeed any other past advertisers and supporters, tell them you are aware of their 2006 support of the show.
6. Tell any club coaches/players/officials/volunteers about the show and the desire for it to continue.
7. Encourage your friends to tune in to the show.
8. Post your support for the show on your club’s fan forum and build some real grass root supporter momentum for the clubs to take notice of.
I have no affiliation with the show personally other than being a 'fan' but I know Chris Kendall would really appreciate any and all support, including any emails to mailto:totalsanfl31@hotmail.com .
Total SANFL – a great show that should be given every chance to continue in 2007 in my humble opinion.
