The Fitzgerald at Port is Dane, not Dallan, if you're talking about the one who has been playing league footy in the last couple of years

Chris Geddie played in the U19 grand Final for West this year.

Yeah, its a pity West don't promote their juniors like North who have had their 2 lads on AFL lists by now!

i got this from the football budget 7/8/1999 page 19, it could be a misprint/mis-spelling, otherwise it's a different lad to dane obviously i don't know the answer to that

Bayman, it is Dallan, Dane would have been too old in 99 for u/12s & also hes not even from SA

Dallan Fitzgerald is now at Sturt

They did a similar thing to this in the Advertiser a few years back for the 1993 Teal Cup side that included the likes of Trent Ormond-Allen, Damian King, Brad Day (Port supporters may possibly remember him) and others.

Considering they were only 12 at the time and their are all sort's of variables, a fair percentage of these players went on to at least SANFL.
From my memory, I can only recall 3 players who were in this side for my age group way back in 1988 and they were Simon Cox, Graeme Kellett (I think it's the same one that has been at North for a fair few years now) and Adam Griffith.

Didn't Adam Heuskes play in that squad too?

I remember him being at training for the squad at Railways Oval and all the players talking about him like he was the next big thing...

Yep, you're right about Heuskes being in that Teal Cup side in '93 and he must have been considered a good type as he was basically drafted by the Swans directly from Gepp's Cross.

Just noticed out of all Port's reperesentives in that side are either back in their country zone or playing for other SANFL clubs. bar one Mark Dolling. says alot about Port's treatment of younger players in the past few years

Top bloke too, Dallan. I played with him in the 2000 SAPSASA State team, which means he would've only been Under 11's in 1999, fair effort. Chris Schmidt from Westies, who is now at Brisbane, did the same in 2000 and 2001.

well we've signed a lad (for this season & beyond) that was in ports zone, as port wasn't interested in even watching him, he decided to come to the bay, (he is a noted goalkicker) so you maybe on to something

Trust me Bayman I know. I am from ports zone but wasnt that good at footy so I didnt give two hoots. I seen countless young guys go over with execptional talent spend 2 years here and dont make it come home and go nowhere. potential gold mine out there. however the net is closing as they have set up an development squad based in town and over there to select the best talent first.
