More importantly, do the bays collect the transfer fee when he is drafted next week?
I can't see why not, he's been de-registered by the Cows, and must be registered as a Bays player to nominate for the draft.
Might be the best deal the club EVER made!

Nup, his contract with the Bays would have started 1/1/07.
You can't get a transfer fee for a player's contract that hasn't started yet, ie North last year with Sam Hunt and Stephen Gilham.
Probably one of the worst deals the club has EVER made and a complete waste of time, South would be laughing their tits off.

Technically you are incorrect and correct at the same time.
Bottom line is that we don't get paid, as the AFL "system" only has to pay for a player being recruited once.
For the same reason North would miss out on $$ for Gill.

Robert Walls suggested that the main problem with North Melbourne is the fact that there players are all bought in from other clubs and no-one plays for the jumper, considering the pick ups by St Kilda, they may well be in the same basket for 2007.

Can't wait to see the Advertiser/Sunday Mail gossip columns when he does officially get drafted.
"Will Ali go with him????"

WTF are you on????? with a strike rate around 1 flag in every 7 seasons for the past 30 years how can you justify a comment like that....some clubs woul like one flag in 30 years....

Who cares how many flags they won in the VFL-AFL in their past? Its this season that counts, and for North Melbourne, what have they done towards improving their situation? Their own fans have tried to burn their clubrooms down twice!

It's Robert Walls comment, not mine, the only games of theirs I have seen is when they play the Crows!
Who would leave the club if offered more money somewhere else? Who would refuse because they were North Melbourne true blue?

you make absolutely no sense at all...you say Robert Walls made the comment (which Ive never heard), yet you bring it on here using it, yet when challenged you say "its not my comment"...you obviously agree with it to bring it on here...
And I rest my case...
the only games of theirs I have seen is when they play the Crows!
Typical Crows fan...not a footy fan...if the Crows aint playing you have no interest in watching other footy...

Walls said it on his weekly interview on 5AA, if you dont listen to it then no doubt you wouldent have heard it. Walls is in a good position to comment and he often makes interesting points on football. The club didnt make the eight and got worse as the season wore on which clearly proves his case.
Typical Crows Fan?
South Adelaide Panthers, Geelong Cats, Goodwood Saints, Adelaide Crows, all clubs who I am happy to watch whenever they are on. I choose the games of the clubs I follow to watch, who cares about watching a dead rubber between two clubs that mean nothing to me?

Rest my case x 2.......surely if your are a footy fan you are interested in watching Footy??? Sorry maybe Im the one who is mistaken...
Im presuming you havent watched a Grand Final since 98 then...
Clearly proves his case??? Again please name names...its not that hard if you really believe in the comment...

Anyone that does not watch North Melbourne play their weekly match is not a footy fan? I suppose anyone who is a footy fan should watch all 8 AFL Games, All 4 SANFL Games and Several SAAFL games to qualify?
How many players consistantly lost their position last year? Those are the names that you could begin to examine.

still spineless and weak not to mention any names...you brought it up...not hard to have pot shots at the team that finished 14th this season...
You said you never wacthed the Roos and you dont watch games that dont have your "teams" (note with interest you have more than 1 AFL team

)
So what do you do with your weekends if your "teams" play on the Friday night??? Knitting classes?

not sure on your or Robert Walls point
as we all know, clubs can not develop players from there own zones, so no matter how you bring a player to your club, either by trades or the draft, he is likely to be from another zone and more likely to have followed another club as a junior......
so I seriously doubt there is a footballer out there who does not play for there club
In specific to the Roo's, yes the clubs recruiting strategy over the last couple of years can be questioned due to the type of player they have targeted, recycled players especially Rawlings and Hay due to there history of injuries, but saying players do not play for the jumper is a bit EXTREME
it was good to see the Kanga's focus on youth in last years draft
