Brett Backwell Leaves the Bays ! (Allegedly...)

Heard from a Glenelg player that Backwell has left the Bays after a disagreement with Mickan.
The Magpies are the front runner for his services, with Backwell telling some former team mates that their offer was "awesome"

I believe he was in a very small group of players, who hadn't re-signed yet...
Apparently, the Bays have lost another player as well.

I beleive that a key forward had moved to Canberra. He is an accountant and the club couldn't find work for him.

if Backwell was "moving on", it would be for the very same reason as "the Accountant"- allegedly (& metaphorically) Chandler (as in "Friends"
) is writing cheques he can't cash...

well the facts of the matter are Mouse hasnt left the club. He and the club are just finalising his next contract.

One fact remains- Brett is still unsigned, & as likely as it is he will stay at the Bay, whilst he remains un-signed, the potential is there for him to leave...

i agree that while he remains un-signed he could leave. A lot of players dont sign until late to bolster the $$$$$$$$ of the contract and with mouse being the magarey medalist you would think he would be given a pay rise

Makes me sick to think of Mouse playing in any other jumper than a Glenelg one.

that is aaron rogers as for mouse it is a malisicious rumour yes he has not signed yes he has a couple of issues regarding promises etc that were made but he will not leave glenelg at this stage he expects to work it all out in the near future

My guess would be he's mooting the possibility of leaving so he can get a few more $$$$ with his Bays contract.
Man I hope those salary cap investigators cast a close eye over Glenelg and West, they have to be cheating?

Certainly would mate, with the false aspersions cast by nasty other clubs trying to make up for their own downfalls North is very well versed in the process of being under more scrutiny than anyone else and as was well documented passed with flying colours unlike some other clubs.
