Not going to the game. Can't afford the petrol, accommodation, food, drink, football budget, pt.lincoln souvenir spoon.

The way you’re going you might be in the hunt for another type of souvenir spoon later in the season ;)

We were in a similar position in 1984. I think we will avoid a wooden spoon this season.

They will close to full strength and are flying their AFL emergencies over on Sunday morning

I don't think they'll be near full strength with Hinge, Murray and Crouch to be replaced, so 3 outs, unless Fogarty returns then two.

Poor kicking is poor football. Don’t deserve to win if you miss so many sitters

Was a problem last season at times if I recall.

After 5 rounds of 1984, Norwood were 2 and 3, as opposed to 0-5.
In 1984 there were 22 minor rounds, not 18.
In 1984 the coach could commmunicate with younger players.

A better comparison would be 2023; when Norwood lost the first 8 or so, when token successes like Gather Round and the Port Lincoln game were driving the club, the coach wasn't communicating well, and the whole year was wasted.

I feel Sheedy is a good communicator.
I wonder if he inherited an issue with this squad that is a result of Rawlings Tassie connection.
14 Tassie players in the Senior squad. It's a step up to play SANFL. Maybe this is a case of too much focus on one breeding ground, meanwhile blocking locals from their progression from Juniors to Senior footy.
Disclaimer.. merely a view from an outsider.
