Double edged sword.

It was eagles are doing reno's for first 5 weeks of the season. ...hopefully they manage to fix the hot water situation after last seasons debacle...

And then after that, only 2 games at Woodville before July - I guess that is one way to make sure it doesn't turn into a swamp by June.

Good selections.

One of the most underrated defenders in the comp, outside the internal walls at Noarlunga, is Summerton.

Was sad to see Jake leave Oval Avenue but it was completely understandable and has been the best move he could have made. It was great to see him make it to 100 games last year and think he will make a great captain...Congrats Summo.

Grandstand changeroom renovations at Oval Ave unlikely to be completed by end of the season so will probably open start of 2024 season.
In the interim, the Eagles will use the Percy Fox Stand changerooms (presently the opposition change rooms) and opposition teams will use temporary change rooms stationed between the 2 existing grandstands. Not a dissimilar situation when renos were happening at Norwood and Elizabeth ovals.

Will there be hot water for visiting teams?

Funding of $1.5m all secured. Problem is with the builder who is apparently 'dragging the chain', much to the club's chagrin.
Apparently the new rooms will be 'state of the art' with split levels, unlike the existing single level arrangement. Men and women's teams both catered for.

Good to hear.

It sounds like we (South) are on a similar path. Not sure when ours starts but they are also upgrading the clubrooms as well.

After years of very little being done, there has been a flurry of upgrades and proposed upgrades to all SANFL ovals in the last few years.
Good to see as some of the venues were looking very tired and not really in keeping with the status of the competition.

I think with two elections held in the 2022 year and the possibility of two incumbent governments being turfed, plenty of promises and money was thrown around to retain power or get in to power. This expansion in facilities can only be good for sport.
