Absolute failure of a season and hopefully some big changes next year, too many not up to it

Season wasnt a failure, I’d been expecting us to be in a spoon battle before it all began finishing 3rd was a false positive to use modern parlance, only got there because North checked out early and South had a slump.

There’ll be plenty of departures, some well past their use by date, some still with a bit to offer. Will free up a lot of cap space so let’s see if the geniuses who decided to move on arguably the best recruiter in the business have what it takes to keep us competitive.

Well done South, last two weeks have played much closer to the standard most expected from them, not sure you’ll get over the juggernauts next week, but anything can happen on the day I guess, best of luck

Anytime you go out in straight sets is an absolute failure regardless of how you got there. We had accounted for South twice this year and to put up one of our worst performances of the year yesterday was simply unacceptable.

Ordinarily I would agree with you mate but this season was all about development and finishing where we did was more about the sub-par minor rounds of 7 sides below us than us being anything special.

South came to play, and have got their mojo back from earlier in the year. Wilkinsons stats at halftime reflected that with 7 kicks and 7 tackles; South applied a lot of pressure especially in the first half.Griffiths was always going to be the dominant ruckman with Knolls absence; and had a big influence at the stoppages.
South are now hitting the scoreboard when they have contral, something they have failed to do in the second half of the year.
Skunk Skinner was the dominant player on the ground at chb, marking anything that came near him. Nobes again a focal point in attack, what he doesnt mark he contests and brings the smaller players into the game. Quiet games from Fitt who was well held and to an extent Cross.
Jason "Cracka" Horne-Francis showed us what he is capable of with some breathtaking cameos during the game.

Massive game v Bays this week. We will most definitely miss Broadbent and his reading of the play and excellent disposal, but we've won 2 finals so far, more or less without him, but he would have been handy v Bays. South and Glenelg have a history; the clubs dont like each other a lot....being near neighbours-a bit like the Hatfields and the McCoys I guess... South with everything to play for ..a Grand Final berth for the first time since 1979. Glenelg,no doubt petrified re the thought of being eliminated in straight sets after such a great year...cant wait.. Go Yee-Ohs!!!

Dont have much to contribute to the thread that hasn't already been said.

Liking our ability to kick goals and make the most of dominant periods. Nobes had the breakthrough game he's been searching for all season. Skinner magnificent at half back, Gibbs got his usual numbers, Wilkinson and Cross were important as small forwards, Horne is living up the hype, Schwarz and Cailotto again solid contributors.

Would be interested in the final contested mark stats. I think it was 10-0 early on South's way.

Hearing that 6-8 retirements and possibly Rawlings departing. Going to be a rocky offseason

Has been offered a potential AFL job and a couple of VFL clubs are sniffing around

Why would he go to a VFL club, they never play over there due to lockdowns

Clubs should stop getting these coaches who just want to get back to AFL Assistant coaching roles, just wasted 12 months and then have to learn a new game plan.

If anyone (South supporter preferred) would like to use my double complementary pass to Friday's PF, please email me and we can work out how to do the transfer.
