R6 Eagles v South Saturday 2.10PM

Both sides coming off a loss.

Eagles were belted by Port in one quarter and South the same against Norwood. Final margins were very different.

Eagles look likely to have Lonergan and Hayes available and South should welcome back Broadbent and Fitt.

South by a point.

You would think that Dan Menzel would return this week and Dane Mcfarlane and Lornegan would be big chances. Hayes and Clay Cameron a chance as well.

Wasted $16.00 to watch the most boring game of footy against Norwood last week (Norwood deserved their win) and witnessed the kicking of the footy by both sides as appauling (i believe they were using a Burley yellow footy, if so that goes a long way to understand why) Should South play like that again we're cooked, however if they play like they did against a strong Port reservers side some weks ago then the game should be a cracker.

Matt Roberts another gun from the Panther football academy to debut.
Ben Harens' 100th game.
Tipping the Panthers by a point in what will be a tough game.

An entertaining game won by the better side on the day. Eagles defence too inexperienced today with Beeken first game, Kerrish first game (may have played 1 for bays), Mead under 10 games and Cameron (normally a forward) playing in defence. Sheedy still looking for the best mix in a side that has not been settled all year. Break coming at a good time for the Eags and will give a chance to reset. Broadbent and Skinner good for South.

High quality game of footy, a complete contrast to last Friday's snoozefest.

South held the early advantage but from mid way through the second quarter til the final siren there never more than a goal or two in it with the lead continually changing hands.

Pleasing to bounce back after last week, and also to notch up a win against the Eagles after the way last season ended.

M. O'Neill, B. Gibbs, J. Kappler, M. Broadbent, J. Tarca (4 goals from 6 disposals), A. Cailotto named South's best, while WWT elected R. Knight, J. Tsitas, T. Menzel, C. Cameron, M. Goldsworthy

Eagles wasted some chances in front of goals while the umpiring was frustrating

Excellent game, South were always going to enjoy the wider spaces at Woodville after being cramped at Norwood. South wanted to take the game on at every opportunity and it paid off. Eagles gave away a couple of goals through some dinky handballs in defence, and we also struggled with some set shots, while the Menzels kept us in the game to some extent.
