However, surely logic prevails in this situation.. CEY has played 2 AFL games all year, and 18 SANFL games. People cant feel hard done by that he is playing this week. He has played all year, he was a suspension replacement and would have been dropped this week if the AFL hadn't stupidly scheduled a bye after round 23 and we had AFL finals to watch this weekend.. I know its the rules that you are ineligible if you played AFL in the last round, but I think CEY qualifies for the extenuating circumstances in this case.

Seedsman, Sloane and Smith would be different cases as they all played majority of AFL, Seedsman only having played a couple of SANFL games. I don't think they should play this week

So what you are saying is, accordinding to the rules, assumingly rules known by the AFL club, he is not eligible to play. Other players, for whatever reasons, who find themselves ineligible to play just have to accept this because their club would assumingly also knew the rules and have to abide by them. But this player should be allowed to play because even though his club know the eligibility rules they decided those rules don't apply to them and shamefully sanful agree.

Logic doesn't come into, no more than sympathy or any other emotion. That's why there are rules, to take away decisions based on emotion. The bloke isn't eligible end of, and therefore shouldn't be playing, just like any other non AFL player.

Oh great. That's all we need, the bloody 19th man to make an 'appearance'.

would be the first time this season they have shown up for a 2's game ;)

I've heard some breaking news that the 19th man is also eligible to play this weekend. Only took Younie a couple of extra phone calls.

Anyway, Adelaide Reserves too strong for Centrals by some distance.
Adelaide Reserves by 50-55 points

The stars are aligning. Get on Adelaide Reserves and CEY for a Flag and MM double

I always picture Ralph Wiggum when people mention the 19th man.

Dunno about that, grubber. Even if they can cobble together a thousand or so fans, I find it hard to believe they'll make enough noise to overpower and out-passion supporters with a reputation for loud singing and chanting UK football style.

You know what they say, blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit free entry.

Now that you mention it, yes, and he's wearing a Crows Guernsey with 19 on the back tucked into an oversized pair of shorts up to his chest. He's also at pains to understand why there are so many Western Bulldogs fans at the game, and wants to know where security is, because isn't there some rule that apart from showdowns only a handful of opposition fans can get in?

If we could arrange for a "Hurl Apples At Ravens Cheer Squad NOW!!!!" message to be flashed across the scoreboard, they'll all just assume it is part of the arranged fun and line up to get hit.

If you look at it seriously the Crows should win easily. They will come in with 18-19 AFL listed players with player playing for contracts semi-final spots and careers. If they lose, there should be a serious look at the SANFL coaching squad. In saying this I hope Centrals win. Nothing will beat an Eagles Centrals GF.

Apart from those last 4 words I agree Goddy. When the Ravens have something to play for they'll be a completely different outfit to the one whose chief intent is practice.

ADELAIDE
Adelaide has significantly strengthened its midfield rotation as it prepares to make its IGA League Finals debut against Central District in Saturday’s Elimination Final at Adelaide Oval.
Former Crows captain Nathan van Berlo has recovered from a foot injury while wingman Paul Seedsman has overcome a corked buttock to take his place in the 23-man squad.
Magarey Medal contender Cam Ellis-Yolmen has been named in the centre after being granted a permit to take his place in the line-up.
Impressive defender Tom Doedee (rib sprain) and former Hawthorn ruckman Luke Lowden (ankle) have also been cleared to play.
Their inclusion has forced the omission of three development players Dylan Ribbons, Trent Heffernan and Josh Wittwer.
Adelaide’s SANFL captain Luke Carey is one of five players named on the five-man extended interchange bench which must be trimmed by two before the bounce.

F: Greenwood, Dear, Menzel
HF: Milera, Hunter, Knight
C: Beech, Ellis-Yolmen, Seedsman
HB: Kelly, Otten, van Berlo
B: Hampton, Doedee, Ramsey

R: O’Brien, Grigg, Wigg
INT: Carey, Gore, Lowden, Spriggs, Schoenmakers
IN: van Berlo, Seedsman, Ellis-Yolmen, Doedee, Lowden
OUT: Ribbons, Heffernan, Wittwer

CENTRAL DISTRICT
Central District could be forced to take a punt on utility Jacob Templeton for its contest against Adelaide in the IGA League Elimination Final at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
Templeton, who returned to Elizabeth this year after a two-year stint with Woodville-West Torrens, has been named on the five-man extended interchange bench.
The 26-year-old has only played six League matches this season due to a series of soft tissue injuries, with his last appearance being in Round 11.
Possessing the ability to play at either end of the ground, Templeton has been named as cover for promising forward Connor McLean.
McLean injured his ankle in Round 22 after landing awkwardly in a marking contest against West Adelaide at My Money House Oval.
The former McDonald’s SA Under-18 player has been named on the bench but must prove his fitness to take his place in the final 21.
Riverland product Nick Gillard – who gathered 22 disposals in the Reserves last round - has also been included in the Bulldogs’ 23-man squad.
The Bulldogs have resisted the temptation to recall triple premiership forward Daniel Havelberg despite obtaining a permit for him to play in the Elimination Final.
Havelberg, who hasn’t played for the Bulldogs since 2011, finished with 10 disposals, three marks and a behind in the Reserves last Saturday.

F: Jenner, F. Fort, Edmead
HF: Presbury, Jansen, J. Schiller
C: Hoskin, Kavanagh, Goodrem
HB: Furnell, Prior, Barmby
B: Habel, Stephenson, Haydon

R: D. Fort, T. Schiller, Holman
INT: Broadwood, Dew, Gillard, McLean, Templeton
IN: Gillard, Templeton
