Port Adelaide will field a more inexperienced line-up for its first SANFL match of the year against South Adelaide at Hickinbotham Oval on Friday night.
After the loss of listed players such as Ben Newton (Melbourne) and Campbell Heath, Cam Hitchcock, Brent Renouf and Lewis Stevenson (delisted), the Magpies will blood the likes of Logan Austin and Jesse Palmer for their first league match.
Austin (195cm and 95kg) has been named in back pocket while Palmer (188cm and 86kg) is listed on the half-back flank.
SANFL contracted bigman Jonathon Ross (198cm and 95kg) could start at centre-half back while the winner of reality TV program ‘’The Recruit’’ Johann Wagner, will start his career with the Magpies from centre-half forward.
Experienced midfielder Anthony Biemans will return earlier than expected from a serious hamstring strain in the Reserves.

League
F: Colquhoun, Butcher, Byrne-Jones
HF: Russell, Wagner, Amon
C: Ah Chee, Summerton, Krakouer
HB: Palmer, Ross, O’Shea
B: Austin, Clurey, Logan

R: Harvey, Moore, S. Gray
INT: Sawford, Wilson, Sharrad, Young

Lol what talk? Whatever 'talk' there was, it was from out of hope for him that he takes his chance after finally completing a full preseason (or 90% apparently), not that he's going to tear the AFL to pieces.

On the game, South have by far a superior line up and should win comfortably. Would be pleasantly surprised if Port win and disappointed for South if they manage to stuff this up. Time to get excited Panther fans.

Yeah I found it funny too. A few players interviewed said he had a good pre season and expected big things and Hinkley said the same and that he was an AFL player. No one was stupid enough to say tear the comp to pieces though.

South simply putrid tonight. Smashed in every statistical category, in run, structure, hardness, leadership and skill. With a 60-23 inside 50 count it could have been a triple figure margin. It was depressing and disheartening to witness this so called "contest".

Goodwood Saints would have beaten South last night. They were worse than witches hats. Complete lack of effort. Lazy. Non existent game plan. Wooden spoon material
