Well his brother (Byron) is playing Amateurs this year. Gepps Cross I think. I would not be surprised if he plays out there - at least for this year - as I know the brothers are very close. If he played for the Eagles then he would be a very good recruit.

For what it is worth, it was stated a couple of weeks ago in The Advertiser that Byron Sumner has decided to play Amateurs this year primarily because he has recently become a father and can't commit to the training demands of league footy during this important time. He has stated that he will reconsider league footy next year.

Cool story, bro

Was interesting to hear him be very uncomplimentary about the Bay's playing squad and there chances this year

He couldn't believe a 35 year old who hasn't played in x amount of years would be leading their running

He would probably lead there swimming as well, is a very handy swimmer

The way Glenelg were overrun today it's gonna tell a real embarrasing story at the bay

They didn't get overrun again did they

When whufc gets a bee in his bonnet about something he just goes on and on and on about it.

Bit like his never ending and incorrect views on Callum Ferguson!

People soon tire of his opinions on most things in the end.

You're worried about a guy who cracks funnies about opposition players injured in hospital?

Wouldn't worry.

If true thats a poor reflection on the Eagles.
I know the season has started but I cant fathom why a club wouldnt welcome one of their juniors back with open arms.
Hopefully he finds a new club next season, such a waste

Pay him the same as an uncontracted kid who works his arse off and gets a few league games? Max $250 per game there.....
