North shot out of the blocks but Norwood dominated the 2nd and 3rd quarter before the better team who plays real football came home in the last.

NORTH 3.2 4.3 7.4 14.7 (91)
NORWOOD 1.2 5.7 7.12 9.16 (70)

BEST – North: Shannon, Miles, Amato, Mitchell, Campbell, Ryswyk, Thiele.
Norwood: Baulderstone, Panos, Jefferies, Murphy, Webber, Allan.

GOALS – North: Mitchell 4, Miles 3, Burton 2, Campbell, Amato, M. Thring, Shannon, Thiele.
Norwood: Roocke 2, Newton, Bartlett, Bampton, M. Evans, Murphy, Donohue, Phillips.

CROWD – 10,014 at Adelaide Oval.

BOB QUINN MEDAL – Jay Shannon (North

Well done to the Norwood supporters today that made it, I honestly don't think I could watch that style for more than 1 or 2 games a year. You're a credit to your club!

What a freaking amazing banner by the North fans, the best in Australia still.

How many useful possessions for Allan?

A serious question though.

Now that North fans have seen Allen from the other side do they have a slightly different opinion of his impact on the game

Leading possession winner for the Legs with 25. 16 of them were handballs.

Gutsy win by the chooks today, lost De Leonardis early and a couple of others including Flash could hardly run.

Sorry Wedgie but playing "real" football doesnt guarantee a flag.
Bassetts game plan worked well because he had the right cattle to play that style, the gamestyle doesnt work now because the players simply are not good enough. Depth isnt great at the moment, cant see us doing much this year TBH with this squad

North did well to quell his influence and he is also older and not as well prepared as he used to be. I'd like him on our side but I wouldn't pay overs for him. If James Bennett was coming back and we didn't get him i'd be more disappointed.

It's Allan with an "A" by the way (sorry, old habits die hard).

At least one useful one. A perfect pass about 35m forward.

It was a strange game. At their best Norwood looked unbeatable. At their worst they had 7 goals kicked against them in a quarter to 1 for.

Top effort by the roosters with a midfield rotation down all day with the injury to DeLeonardis.

I was impressed with Baulderstone, pity he never got the required fitness while at North.

Thank goodness, McGregor got Mitchell off McGuiness, not only got Mitchell into the game but restricted McGuinness' influnce.

And to address the question about James Allan from a North's supporter's view: I wasn't bothered at all when he went to Norwood, sad to see a champion play for someone else but he never won games off his own boot. He works tirelessly but his stats were never a true reflection of his impact on a game. I think he would have been far more damaging in the Norwood teams of 2012-13 as a link man, but he doesn't have the same quality of player around him now so he's playing very similarly to while he was at North. It's an early call but I think it has turned out fine for North with the other midfielders recruited or making their league debuts this year.

I thought that he was in Norwood's two best players. Certainly one of their two most creative players.

Allan would have had the same amount of useful possessions when he was at North though.

Norwoods game style has ran it's race and yes very boring and painful to watch. Probably haven't got the players to carry it out and as many thought maybe not the coach. Big call on him and I already see this ending in tears.

Well done North and some changes needed quickly at the Parade to turn it around , which they can as was only 21 point margin.

He was one of their best but he is simply not damaging. A lot of soft touches and gives by handball they were not a big threat. When a player like Dean Howard had 18 handballs they were very damaging.

Laugh now and enjoy our bad run.
Once we "gel" lookout.
This will be a sweet third Premiership in a row!

Sorry I dont share your optimism just yet Fester.
Any idea on when this gelling will occur?
Im seriously worried that we only have a couple of weeks to turn it around or season will be over.
Hope you are correct

Could certainly do . You are one of those "everyone is against us" posters hey. Yes you will be fine and win the flag. ;)

I doubt anyone's laughing, I think it's only the Norwood supporters who don't see them as a premiership threat ATM.

Correct. If Norwood play like they did in second and third quarters for most of the game they are agenuine premiership threat. They're absolutely miles ahead of the other two teams that are 1-3.

No. I'm a Norwood Football Club member who will never give up on my players.
But I love it when everyone is against us, means you're the best.

But the Norwood "Supporters" who only appear to be happy when we they have something to complain about really $hit me off!

Or you could look at those times when you're top of the table and enjoy them and not care less what oppostion supporters think. Seems like the simpler way to determine when 'you're the best'.

I've never seen Norwood win a flag at Adelaide Oval
And it wont change this year

Luke Mitchell
Does he always kick a mile and straight ?

The dwarfish Norwood defenders were exposed by the North giantish forwards in the second half

James Allan
I don't think I've been to a game where a footballer was abused as much as James today
Might just be the vicinity of where I sat
Did James cop it elsewhere ?
