Maybe we could add another reserves reserves team for Port in the comp.

A port supporter friend, went to the power reserves when port had the bye. Commented how he thought it's pretty detrimental to Lobbe often sitting on the bench given they apparently have a number of ruck options in that side.

With the new AFL agreement the average AFL player will earn more than an SANFLs entire salary cap for league and reserves.
3 minimum wage players will do almost the same.
Want to play in the SANFL? Adhere to the SANFL salary cap and just field 3 minimum wage players or one average player, that would be fair and put the clubs on even footing.

I didn't realise money affected a players ability.
Damn it...I wish someone paid me to play and I would of been a decent player!

IMO, the only way forward for Crows and Power AFL reserves sides in the SANFL, is to have them playing for no premiership points (and obviously, no finals).

So you'd have no problems if North had 20 times the salary cap of West? Or Geelong similarly over Adelaide?
You would have no issue if some clubs got 120 points for a goal and others didnt?
Different amounts of players on the field perhaps, only tackling for some?
Is it too much to ask that every club in a competition play by the same rules?

What about if men played against women?

Thatd be fairer than one club having twenty times the salary cap of another.

Maybe the Crows women's team should play instead as their salary cap for that 6 weeks of footy would be similar to the SANFL wouldn't it? ;)

I understand what you are saying (on the first line, not all the others which were completely irrelevant)

Thats life in general. Not everyone gets paid the same to do the same job.

If you paid Westies players as much as Ports players they'd be just as good.

You mean that if somebody was paid so much for playing football, he could actually live off that money instead of having to find a full time job?
Then he could spend all that time practicing, recovering, studying the game and improving his fitness?
Wow! I met a chef who could cut a cucumber in the blink of an eye, when I asked him about it, he said "It's my job! It is all I do! If I was paid to catch balls all day, I would be just as mind-bogglingly great at that as well!"
So if a footballer can make a comfortable living playing football... and other footballers are not allowed to...
Gee, now that you mention it, maybe there is an advantage that the Crows and Power have over the traditional clubs after all?

(note : thinking process spelt out for people who consistently seem to miss the steps when thinking about this topic)

I think your Chef friend is under estimating the art of catching balls.. Far more variables in that than cutting a cucumber IMO
