No. Moved straight onto the next question, regarding pulling* the sub at AFL level...

Which is almost as bad as the comment itself, shows how desensitised the media are about the SANFL now, 5AA don't have any SANFL content anymore

The SANFL is called the State League now apparently.

See this excerpt from The Australian's Patrick Smith yesterday in a long article extolling the virtues of those struggling battlers from South Cheltenham:

"Port, a club once splintered by history and SANFL's greed and mischief, have every intention of becoming an immovable heavy in the AFL. This week their membership count will climb past 60,000."

Without knowing the context of the article or anything about the author, all I can say is anyone who still believes this fossilised cow manure should consult a cranio-rectal specialist.

Well it is right as the SANFL were greedy and mischevious in handing out welfare to the basket case Port when the money should have been going to the SANFL clubs.

It was like setting fire to money sending it down there.

Anyone who is "no afl in the sanfl" but still barrack for a victoria afl team is kind of a hypocrite as the Victorian clubs took over VFA teams like Coburg, Williamstown, Bendigo, etc turns them into reserves team and then dumped them when they wanted their own team so the SANFL system isn't perfect but it better than over the border especially if you was a Bendigo supporter and have no team anymore.

Agree that an AFL reserve comp is better way to go and the sanfl is left to fend for itself but I feel when my generation dies out then the clubs probably get absorbed into the amateurs like the old SAFA teams

Not a perfect situation at the moment but not much in life is and given other things going on with the world, very easy to cope with.

Nope not hypocritical at all. While I watch that other comp and barrack for the saints, not really bothered how they do. I feel for the Vfl/vfa supporters. I'd prefer that no state league be impacted the way it has been...I guess it's just stiff shit, they'll do what ever they want. Anyone defending the intruders and saying its good for the comp has no ******* idea.

I care and grew up with the SANFL, I've been to hundreds of SANFL games, I've been to 1 VFA/VFL game. Does it make me a hypocrite because I care about the SANFL and not the VFL? No
Am I hypocritical because I follow a NRL club and the QRL has been decimated and impacted upon by reserves teams? No as I don't care about the QRL, never have.
Be like saying I'm a hypocrite because I put food on the table for my kids but not some kids in China.
Throw into the fact my AFL club was a foundation member of the VFA/VFL in 1877 and have a history in that comp going back over 130 years.
The VFA completely disbanded in 1994 and handed over to the body that ran the VFL reserves, if anything the VFA clubs were interlopers in 1995 onwards because of this. My AFL team has never tried to take over or affiliate with a VFA/VFL club. It has been in the VFA/VFL over 130 years, its league invited ex VFA clubs to its competition in 1995. Completely different circumstances to the VFA/VFL.
Did my AFL club solely destroy the VFA/VFL through lies and deceit? No

Would I be a hypocrite if I followed 2 clubs who play against each other in the same competition? Absolutely
Would I be a hypocrite if I was a Crow Eater and followed the Crows? Absolutely
Would I be a hypocrite if I being a proud Crow Eater didn't have anything to say about an AFL club destroying my beloved South Australian National Football League competition through lies and deceit? Absolutely

Hypocrite was too strong a word and I apologise for that, the point that I was trying to make (rather poorly) was I had 10 years in Brisbane and 10 years in Melbourne and the SANFL is still better than the VFA/VFL and the QRL as interest in those competitions is very small.

I do get annoy that this site seems to blame the crows for everything that is wrong with the SANFL but you are allow to have your views and if I don't agree with it then so be it.

That's because the Cows ARE to blame.
THEY drove the 'Reserves Debate' - Port cleverly stood back & let them do the leg work, no doubt a case of "once bitten, twice shy" as a result of 1990.

Am I a hypocrite because I have an ICON of Collingwood?
I have it, because Fulham (Avatar) are B&W - I could hardly use Port 'Magpies', now could I?

Am I a hypocrite, having been in Melbourne for the Victorian Short Course Swimming Championships in 2014, I went to the Essendon v Nth Melbourne Final, then attended the Williamstown v Werribee VFL Final @ Pt. Melbourne Oval (which I very much enjoyed, I might add)?

Am I a hypocrite for 'putting a face' (along with Gary & Shane) to the 'No AFL in the SANFL' Campaign?

You are entitled to your opinion, however 'miss-guided'.

I think the SANFL has been going down the toilet for years now, and the entry of the Crows into the SANFL has allowed disaffected folks to channel all of their anger into one entity

Dont agree, yes the SANFL had some issues but the comp was on the way up a couple of years back. Crowd numbers were on the way up and there was plenty more kids coming to the games and getting behind their sides.

Not sure if it's been mentioned anywhere. I read today that Port and Norwood are wanting to own the ANZAC Day game. So we've got a AFL franchise reserves team with no salary cap and no SANFL voting rights demanding ownership of a a game that everyone should share in. Is there no end to the bullshit?
