The biggest frustration for me is that a SANFL club would have spent 3-5 years developing the kid and now not only do we lose him but he will be used against us, and what compensation does the club really get, nothing that's adequate enough. The other frustrating part is there is ZERO the club could have done to attempt to retain him. In hindsight now the club was better of not playing him in the finals and have played a kid that may have stayed at the club.

What i mean is if Central lose a player to say North Adelaide there will always be a reason for it (money, oppurtunity, disciplinary etc etc) and that there would always be that 1% chance the club could have done something to stop him from leaving North Adelaide and becoming your opponent.

When we lose a player to the Crows he is now our opponent and we had absolutely ZERO chance of doing anything about it.

Very happy the North boys got drafted interstate, there would be nothing worse than having them play for an enemy in the SANFL.

The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

Postby RustyCage » Tue Nov 24, 2015 9:15 pm

No player who wants to be the best footballer they can be would chose to play at an SANFL club over an AFL club.

That's my point

It crap that now SANFL clubs lose promising young guns to rival clubs (Ravens and power reserves) and there is simply nothing in the world they can do to keep them

This is completely different to when u lose a player to a Victorian or wa club etc

Your frustration might be justified, but you are surely not suggesting you don't play your best available side in the finals?

He wouldn't of been missed but perhaps could of slid a bit.
Plenty of guys bolt up the order or slip down due to finals performances at the lower levels. I think the Crows had him in their gun from a long way back though, would of been interesting to see if he was from interstate whether or not they picked him, reckon that had a fair bit to do with their interest
