Not much the clubs can do about it, though, is there? The Dogs desperately need to boost their home attaendances...

Boost their home attendances with less games...

No still 10 home games each, except for Port (9) & Crows (1@ Clare)

That's good news.

Dogs play Norwood at the Parade on a Friday night, is that right?

Are all finals being played at Adelaide Oval or just the GF?

Not just for the clubs involved, but for the League as a whole...

Promotional aspects will now be caught up in the AFL Prelim hype and even more so locally if the Power or Crows happen to be in it...

Not being the last stand alone Grand Final to be played in Australia, post AFL GF, is now pretty disappointing, for sure...

This was one of my big concerns when this whole issue got momentum.

One of the big selling points the Eagles sold to their members was that the SANFL would risk losing media interest if the AFL teams played their reserves teams elsewhere.

So now we have a GF that will be near impossible to market when the AFL is still in full swing.

What a load of crap.

It is sickening seeing the Advertiser trying to hype up the round 1 game between Norwood and the port power reserves. Can norwood beat their old enemy now its full of power reserves talent they say Clearly they are giving the SANFL some attention as they see money in it. It alsmost sounds like some sort of exhibitiion game however...the best of the SANFL versus the port power reserves. This is an insult to the port v norwood rivalry to try and pass it off between a battle of traditional rivals. There is no way in gods green earth I will be attending. The SANFL directors have failed South Australian football fans miserably!

I can think of one thing the clubs could have (not) done.

They'll have a tradition of 0 games against each other. Impressive.

Ok, I will play devil's advocate here. Is anyone taking the positive view that this coming season will be the first time Glenelg, Central, North, West, South, Sturt, Eagles, and Norwood will play each other without AFL listed players since 1991? It is club versus club back to its purest form. Be kind.

Albeit in a compromised competition.

And that leads to an interesting question ... do people support a club or a competition?

From my pre-media days I certainly was more concerned about HOW my team played, rather that WHO my team played.

And a single match with a 12:10pm start? What's up with that? :?

Pretty sure the reserves are scheduled to start at 9:25 AM, so not a standalone fixture.

Both. Hard though to get excited about my club when the competition's voluntarily copped one up the butt from the Cows and Flowers.

Will there be an 'early game' at all when teams play the Crows Reserves?

The Bays have a bye the same week as the first of those fixtures. Reckon I'll front up to the Ponderosa.

That is exactly the view I am taking. Just a shame that the action has to be split up by 4 meaningless bye weeks.

Opps ... I wanted to attach the free FOOT-e TIMES SA issue breaking down the fixture club by club.

But max file size on this site is now 2mb and this is 3.8MB.

Sorry
