I rerckon he'd be a great head coach for the Bombers.
But I'm guessing he'd be offered an assistant's role

So you are saying you would rather replace a coach that is still in his position before you filled a vacant coaching position?

Reckon you're right 'NM'.
The way Bass & Co. have set things up, there's no need to change.
Everything is running so sweetly these days that Nathan could take
any job anywhere and just coach Norwood by phone.
;)

I think Wellman's position will go to Harvey.
Hopefully we can then piss Egan off and bring in Bassett

Hopefully Norwood had the sense to put a succession plan in place when Bassett was appointed.
It was never going to be long-term, but he does seem to have set the club on the right track.
The contrast with the rabble the team was under Hill is startling.
(Cotton seemed to do a good job in his short fill in term.)

Turns out that he's not travelling to Melbourne at all and is obviously making Norwood his #1 priority this week, even if it prejudices his chances of getting an AFL gig. Until reading this I'd thought Norwood's chances of keeping him for 2014 were about zero, so the story is good news in the sense that there is still a prospect he may stick around.

If some AFL clubs are offering their assistant coaches $160k at full tote, and sometimes halving it to $80k, it turns out that being a SANFL senior coach is a more attractive proposition than I would have thought.

He is almost over the line at Essendon.
Should be announced early next week

Well he's obviously not going to Sydney ... you know, no dickhead policy and all that.

Good luck to him though, he obviously is a gun coach.
