Speaking to someone else about sanfl and older woman overhears and makes her way into the conversation.
Her "I haven't been to an SANFL game for at least 10 years, I'm a roosters fan from way back, I often go to the crows matches"
Me "you've gained quite alot of good players so far"
Her "Have we? Maybe we will go a step or 2 further next season like Sydney"
Me "No, I mean North in the sanfl"
Her "oh, right, who's coaching down there at the moment?"

he he, almost word for word of a post 12 months and 24 months ago with different clubs.
Bit like those emails that always come around with <insert club you're jealous of this week here>

Huh? How is it meant to be a payout on North? It wasn't. It was showing another example of an sanfl fan abandoning the comp for the AFL.

Sounds like another case of "I am mightier than thou because I follow AFL".

There's 100's just like her that "used to" barrack for an SANFL club, one day at least some of them might see the light.

A classic example of someone who only has a limited interest in football,if,like many of us you truly love the game, then two teams in two comp's isnt enough. Most of us find the time to have an interest in more than one team, she obviously doesnt enjoy the game enough to put in the effort.

Maybe when people like that butt in on SANFL conversations we should turn the tables on them! By that I mean give them quizzical looks and ask "Who's coaching the Crows this year?" or "When do you think Rehnny will hang up the boots?". Sounds like your lady didn't know much about the Crows anyway if she didn't know about their recruits........you shoulda said "Honey, the draft is this Saturday, they have no recruits yet. Now get back to the kitchen and make me some pie."
I can't believe that after 15 years these crochet blanketted chardonnay sippers still know shit all about footy.
