Easy explanation why but Hart deserves just as much fanfare

Same deal, only this time Ben Hart has also played 300 AFL games, and won 2 AFL premierships. He also debuted for North in a semi final at only 16 years of age.
Both he and Wanganeen are fantastic players in their own right, as it is hard to exactly compare them because of their game styles.
Ben Hart is/was never going to win a Brownlow, given how he plays the game.
You don't need to be a captain to be a leader of a side, Hart leads by example.
One of the easiest explanation was brought up in the James thread - the first indigenous player to play 300 games. Why is this a big deal? Aren't we all supposed to be equal?
End of rant.

It's simple. Ben Hart hasn't played 300 games.

That's right, he hasn't played 300. He's played 308 and still going.

Wanganeen didn't have 1/10 as much hype in relation to his 300th as what Ricciuto did!!

Hart is still playing whereas Wanganeen has retired, hence the media attention. Wanganeen deserves all the praise he can get IMO. A fantastic footballer from Port Adelaide and one of the best South Australia has produced.

No pafc, just that these two players I feel should have just as much recognition as he. Wanganeen deserves the accolades no doubt, but it seems that some players get more "attention" than others. Ricciuto is another one, but I used Wanganeen because of the "first Indigenous player to 300 games" bit, as something that should not really be used as hype because as I pointed out, we are all equal.

Both the Brett James thread and this one bring up good points. There is no relevance to what race anyone is. Wanganeen is recognised because he is a champion. Where he rates in order of the best SA footy players is a matter of personal opinion but he would have to be high up in most peoples lists. Ben Hart will be reconised by the media whe he retires and my comment re: Wanganeen go for him as well.
Brett James, as good as he was and is, isn't in the same class as Wanganeen or Hart. Take nothing away from James though cos he has been a fantastic player and acheived the ultimate in both the AFL and SANFL. He also had a major contribution to taking North apart on Saturday.
PS - I was lucky enough to play a game of cricket last year against Golden Grove. In the Golden Grove side were Troy and Shane Bond, Eugene Warrior and Gavin Wanganeen. Shane Burgoyne turned up to watch. As hard as it is to say about Port people they were some of the best blokes i've ever played against.

Can't wait until we get to the 'Easy explanation why but Waterhouse deserves just as much fanfare' thread.
