Rd 12 - Port v Norwood @ Alberton

Well, I've seen the email circulated by the PAMFC (great initiative too btw) and would be disappointed if both of these great rivals couldn't put on a big turnout on Saturday.

As for the game, well who knows ... Port have been struggling for wins but haven't really been belted and Norwood are as Jekyll and Hyde as they come.

Either way you would expect a pretty close tussle between the two, and no doubt emotion could well play a big part in the match.

I reckon this is a real oportunity for the SA Footy community to show which Port Adelaide we would like to see saved. Ohh the irony if they got a bigger crowd at Alberton on Saturday than they do for a Port Power home game....

Don't think it would happen but gee it would be nice.

And anyone wearing Port Power colours should be barred entry. Damn insult to the Magpies IMO.

Here, here, it's like which Port Adelaide did you come to see. You don't see the Power playing at Alberton do you.

I agree, as much as I love the clubrooms there I guess that means all beers will need to be procured outside?

A sad day indeed when the most talked about discussion point in a Port V Norwood game at Alberton is what people may or may not be wearing to the game. Grow up people, really.

CP,REB,JAS,Macca, auto, we should all have a minutes silence. :(

Anywho, on more pressing issues, I think the 'Pies can win this one. Norwoods form has been up and down and Port, although lacking wins, have been fairly consistent and have been competitive for large chunks of most games.

The Magpies in a close one for mine. I'll be looking on from a long way away, Queenstown in NZ.

CP, txt me a final score mate, either way?

Will do mate (although I have a penchant to forget after a few bevvies lol) ... I think one generally feel's more comfortable going in to a Port v Norwood game if your team is the one that has achieved less thus far in the season.

Such is the nature of these games the underdogs have a great record of getting up.*

Not bad! I haven't seen the weather but hopefully plenty can turn out for the game on Sat arvo. I wouldn't even mind if there was some sort of "joint effort" to get Nwd supporters at the ground to say they want to keep the Magpies in the comp. Hell, anyone at the ground! Black and white striped armbands/wristbands maybe? A Pat Cash headband for the brave and foolish?

do I hear another stupid bet from Sam Newman brewing? ... or maybe get Craig Balme and Tim Evans to re-live their little stoush as pre-game entertainment.

if you support the Legs or Maggies there is no excuse to not be at Alberton on Saturday.

LOL

How about Paul McCormack and Roger Delaney?

In any case, there have been plenty of classic contests. Some we choose to remember, some we choose to forget, and some that we will never forget for whatever reason!

Was it just me or did Tim Ginevar sound really down tonight on the RPH show? What I've liked about him in the past is that normally he sounds pretty bright and confident but tonight you just sensed that the weight of the world was on his shoulders and that the realisation that his team won't might the finals has hit home.

a big battle of the once mighty teams of the competition...i think with all the media speculation (well by the ferrett anyway) that there will be a more focussed port TEAM & they'll win at home

Thank you Macca :D
I think it was Warren Partland who read them out so my excuse is his phoneline and accent on the radio ;)

The McKern one might not exist and could have been him stumbling slightly trying to say McInerney.

I did better than I thought I had
