with no ballet` football being played in adelaide this weekend has the league made a blue in not having the central v north game underlights ? & thus having 'every timeslot' covered for the weekend

if you are looking at from a crowd perspective, there may be a slight case but I'm not sure that there will be a (signifcantly) smaller crowd for the day game Bayman.

There should be no excuse for big crowds this week though ... 1 v 2 Friday, 3 v 4 and The Legs v The Magpies Sat.

Bring your hard hat, steel caps and union ticket for Friday night! ;)

i'm thinking it would maximise attendances with promoting 'the big clash' friday night, 'the traditionional rivals clash saturday' 'another blockbuster on saturday night' & the south v wwt match on sunday & being selfish i could then go to all 4 games  ;)

when you punt on footy it is beneficial to see as many games as possible & that makes it profitable ;) seriously though i reckon there would be at least 1500 more at elizabeth if it was played at night on saturday

The mistake they have made is having a game at night !! Glenelg & Sturt should be Saturday

Scared of the cold? Buy yourself a nice thick Sturt jacket and a couple of Bourbons. You'll be right ;)

I'm sure anyone that's stood on the terraces at Elizabeth Oval on a June evening can explain why bayman. Shocking time of year to have a night game there. They'd lose as many, if not more, through the cold than they would gain through the time difference.

Just as cold as Adelaide Oval (or any other ground) in the middle of winter under lights (or, in Noarlunga's case, day or night :D).

I think the one game at a time (Friday night/Saturday/Saturday night/Sunday) concept for SANFL rivalry rounds in the past is the best. Gives maximum exposure for each individual game, as opposed to Centrals/North, Port/Norwood competing for patrons. One of these games should have been played Saturday night.

This Friday night is a silly effort as well, crowd will be well down on what it should be for these two sides because it is a night game when a lot of people can't be arsed heading out in the cold.

I think Spelly has some stats that show night games, an average, draw larger crowds than other matches played in the same month regardless of what time of year they are played. Eg, June night matches draw higher crowds than June day matches.
This could be because the SANFL has programmed the potentially big sellers as a night fixtures, so they hypothetically could have gotten a bigger crowds anyway, I am not sure if Spelly's figures went into that scenario though.

As Ive said there is AFL on Saty night, there is NO AFL on Saty arvo....only footy is SANFL, thats why they programmed it that way.

I also reckon Sturt/Glenelg should have been Saty or Sunday, coming off 5 day breaks last week they should have been given at least a 7 day break into this important clash
