AFL Split Round

I only just realised this weekend that in the quirk of programming both Adelaide and Port Power played the same weekend. Here in the west they've separated the Eagles and Dockers fixtures so we dont have a weekend without AFL.

Are the SANFL taking advatage of this and hammering promotion of the local comp in the Adelaide media?

Hopefully.

Genuinely looking forward to this weekend. The games have worked out very nicely too. 1 v 2 and 3 v 4 being night games, the traditional Port v Norwood rivalry on TV and I guess South and Eagles had to fill up the rest.

Ah really? I just assumed the SANFL would have made it a night game this round.

Why? It's cold enuff during the day at this time of year, let alone at night - and with no Adelaide based AFL teams in action makes perfect sense to play in the afternoon.

Had they made it a night game I and many other people I know would have got to 3 SANFL matches this weekend. Think i'll go to the Port v Norwood although I think the Dogs v North game will be a better spectacle. See how I feel on the day.

Why should the SANFL wait for a Crows & Power free weekend to promote their own product?

They shouldn't and don't. They just should step it up greatly when there is an AFL free weekend to maximise the possibility of huge crowds.
