Seriouisly what is going on at the Parade ? After 7 rounds the Legs are sitting 2-4 and outside the top 5 when most pundits thought they were a definate finals starter if not top 3. Let's also look at who there wins have come against as well - Port and South and everyone's been beating those 2 teams. I know there's a long way to go but a loss in against the Bays in round 8 will see them sitting 2-5 and slipping further away from the top 5.

2-5 with the Blues next. Good chance it will be 2-6, but Norwood always give us trouble.

That's an easy one. Yes.
But at least I wasn't silly enough to trust Freo. (In fact, for its occasional teasing performances, specialising in narrow losses, and failure to hold it together under pressure, someone unkind might say 'Norwood: the Fremantle of the SANFL'.)

That Norwood side IS Jekyll and Hyde !
If you want to see a photo of our team, get out your dictionary and look up 'schizophrenia'.

As highlighted in my earlier post I believe the most concerning sign for the Legs is it's 2 wins have come against the bottom 2 teams of the comp - they have then failed to beat the 3rd bottom side and failed to capatalise on their chances against the top rated dogs with losses to top 5 prospects Sturt, North and now Glenelg along the way. Worrying signs at the Parade - is it time to say goodbye Mr Hill.

This is what everyone keeps on saying, yet who is it that is going to come into the club and do better? - Consider also that the coach cannot recruit outside of the clubs zones in 2010 which may give them a thin or thinner list to work with. Ultimatley on that basis Norwood are most likely going to be better off to retain Hill for another season and focus on developing the juniors at the club. Still if Norwood do go for a "Builder" type coach like Phil Carman or Alan Stewart, they may well be willing to come to the club if its understood that the first year of the contract is going to be focused on the junior development of the list.

Hill won't be retained, it would be a wildly unpopular move if he was.
Having said that, whoever coaches next is effecively on a hiding to nothing.
He will have the recruitment handicap to start with and will then have to work at bringing about a cultural change similar to what Centrals managed around 10 years ago.
Bad times at the Parade

Things can change very quickly in the SANFL ...
2 weeks ago, Port were apparently favourites for the spoon and now there's some talk of them making the 5 and matching Central tonight.
The Bays were apparently gone after being smashed by Central on Anzac Day and are now sitting 2nd at 6-2.
North beat Sturt in round 5 then Sturt are apparently worldbeaters after smashing the Eagles last week.
Considering Port won only a couple of games in the front 9 last year and still made the 5 shows that things can be turned around quickly.
IMHO, there should be final 4, not 5, but thats a discussion for another day.
Yes, the Legs were surprisingly very poor last night and their attack on the ball at times was ordinary, but after round 8, they have the time to regroup. I couldn't believe the side I saw last night pushed the Dogs to the wire 2 weeks ago.
Unless we're talking about the 16s, finals aren't played in May and the battle is to get into the 5 come September ... Norwood, if they get their act together, can be there.
If you support the Legs, get behind the players and the coach ... after the season is the time to have a sober review of the club, including coaches, not now.

I really can't understand why this is surprising people. Those of us who like to think we know a little bit about the game, and also about Norwood, couldn't follow why the media and supporters of other clubs had such high expectations on our club for this season.
The facts are that the player most responsible for our rise into the top 5 last season was a raw 18 year old from Broken Hill who carried our forward line and booted us into the 1st Semi Final.
How we were ever going to improve without our key forward is beyond me.
As for Norwood "imploding", Constance Perm is quite correct, it happened years ago. The most professional club in the 1980s now appears to be bereft of ideas on how to go about building the club, and the team into a formidable opponent.
Unfortunately, we appear to be following the same direction as South Adelaide where no matter what we do, it doesn't work. No matter who we recruit, they don't live up to expectations. Don't ask me for answers, I don't have any.
No point in sacking the coach because we will only appoint another just like him. Over the years, the list of people expressing interest in the Norwood job reads like a "who's who of football", but they didn't fit the requirements of the board. Some of these have gone to other clubs where they are doing great jobs.
I'm disappointed with our 2009 season, but certainly not surprised. I've seen it all before, too many times.

I agree with you 100%, unfortunately though it is getting bloody harder every week. A member for 25 years since I was 9 I have seen the good and bad times. Funny thing is, even through the lack of finals, the wooden spoon, no money, no players and rotating coaches in the past 8 years or so, never have I been as frustrated and disappointed as I was after last night. I called the result at the ten minute mark of the first quarter, that's not a good sign.
That effort and result really pissed me off.
I will be there for the rest of the season (and the next and the next and...) but something needs to be done
