We have received very positive feedback about our newly upgraded website. It certainly is the place to get all your news and with Duane’s articles each week there is plenty of gossip too along with the weekly video interview section.

Of course members get the news sent to them first before it goes on the web via the member’s only email service. If not yet a member then please join up now. The team is performing very well at the moment yet all agree we can and need to improve – being a member is a very real way to show your support. (Membership a little ahead of same time last year but I’m looking to set a new record so get on board)

Ron’s coaches comments re last week’s game are on the web now and certainly make good reading as Ron also speaks about the challenge we face this week against Sturt.

News from tonight’s tribunal – Robbie Fiacchi was found not guilty.

Congratulations to Byron Sumner from Woodville-West Torrens Football Club has been named the Round 6 Macca’s Cup Most Valuable Player nominee.

LET’S MAKE IT A ‘HUGE DAY OUT’ - THIS SATURDAY AT WOODVILLE OVAL

This Saturday’s match at Woodville Oval against Sturt is going to be a massive day for the WWTFC. After a great turn out from our supporters at Prospect last Sunday, we want to see as many of you at Woodville Oval on Saturday for what will undoubtedly be the match of the Round.

Not only will our boys be battling it out on the field for two vital premiership points against an in form Sturt, there will also be plenty happening off the field as well;

We have our President’s Luncheon on before the game - Enjoy entry into the ground, a grandstand seat, two course meal, beer, wine and soft drinks for the duration of the function and afternoon tea for only $55. The lunch, compared by Eagle favourite, ex Adelaide Crow and SAFM sports reporter Rhett Biglands, will see club fitness guru Mark Harris give all in attendance some insight into the match and its key match ups as well as player interviews.

It’s Ladies Round for the SANFL competition and our Ladies Day marquee will be located on the mound at the Northern end of the ground and we’d like to again acknowledge the role female’s play within our Club.

After the wonderful success of our inaugural Ladies Day marquee in Round 3 (we are already ahead of the rest in acknowledging our female supporters!), it will be on again this weekend. So come along, bring a friend and we’ll again be offering a free glass of champagne or wine on arrival, subsequent glasses $2, and a whole host of nibbles, tea and coffee provided free of charge!

Our Centro Arndale ‘Kick for Goal’ competition has jackpotted to $600. Every home game we will be giving someone the opportunity to kick for goal to win a Centro Arndale Shopping voucher. All you need to do is kick a goal from the designated spot behind the boundary line. Simply fill in an entry form located at the ticket booths for you chance to win the opportunity to kick for goal!

The WWTFC Trivia Night is being held at the Club from 7pm with Mark Jeffries as MC. Enter a table and test your trivia knowledge for your chance to win some great prizes. BYO food with drinks purchased at bar prices…. Cost $10 per person.

For Bookings for any of the events please ring the club – 8347 2444 – Bookings are essential

So make sure you come to Woodville Oval and get involved in what is going to be a great day.

That puzzles me - why after the match? Nothing like playing in an empty stadium; should be so that the crowd builds up during the match, not emptying out.

I know what you mean, it will be a bit wierd hearing the siren and seeing lights on after leaving the Adelaide game. I think that since Adelaide is playing at 12.40 the league decided to have this game after. If Adelaide was playing the late game, the 18s would have been before.

It is all to do with costs of running the day, if the game is held before the crows, it would cost the sanfl and crows more to run as they have to pay for all the staff running the canteens, bars, red coats. if held after the crows all that would be open is the members area which the sanfl pay. that is what i got told from an u/18's coach.

Was not a result we wanted last weekend but hats off to sturt.
All the match reports are on our club website.

Be sure to check out Duane Schultz's report too - some good gossip along with his thoughts re his first league game.

Sadly another injury from last weeks round in that Jimmy McEntee will be out with a broken wrist.

Then the coach is wrong as the u16s final is played before the Power game on Sunday.
