RD 6 Norwood v Central preview

As unlikely as it seems, Norwood could easily come out and topple Central.
They nearly did last year with arguably lesser names available.
They’re a real Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde outfit and coaching issues aside, are more than capable
of being the worst or best team in the league at any moment. This was fully evidenced last
year against Glenelg and Central.
Even with what I considered to be a doubtful line up, our 1st quarter against West was
champagne footy, thanks to some creative player placements and fast, direct, up the guts
ball movement. If the pedal stays firmly upon the metal for 4 quarters this week, who knows ?
A successful crack at CDFC will unfortunately depend upon :
1) A backs against the wall mentality with ‘Fortis In Procella’ to the fore.
2) AFL selections.
3) Not playing those carrying some form of injury, or having returned too soon.
4) Dropping recent habitual non performers.
&
5) Rewarding the few quality reserves / recruits who are performing.
This last point may well help motivate a grossly underperforming reserves team that continually
fails to see promotion for individual efforts.
On a lighter note, I’m surprised Trevor Hill’s detractors haven’t taken to calling him
Forrest Gump. “Coz No’wood is sho’nuff lark a barx a choclitts.”
“Ya jus’ never know watcha gonna git.”
