Based on that performance, you don't deserve another shot at Centrals in a Grand Final...

only round 5 mate, as a lot of people say you dont win premierships in april - and being a glenelg fan for 40+ years i reckon i am well qualified to agree with that, however our footy club cannot sit back and accept that sort of performance , the players have a lot of soul searching to do this week

To be a Grand Finalist and have 21 goals kicked against you in those conditions is an absolute flogging!

Add to that Centrals kicked more in the last quarter (8.3) tham Glenelg kicked all game (7.8 )!

Disgracefool coaching by Laird
Took too long to shift Danny Havelberg to full forward.....

I presume this is being said tongue in cheek, but the last quarter was the Dan Havelberg show!

Prior to the game I wrote:
''On a fine day I reckon the margin would be 60-80 points. Wet weather might be the only thing which saves the Bays from embarrassment.''
Well I was wrong on 2 counts
I was summoned home by the missus at half time. I reckon she did me a favour.
Central very, very good, especially given the conditions. Nothing I could say would do them justice.
Too many Glenelg players did not put in the requisite effort. Fair to say that the Bays are a long way behind where they were this time last year.

If that were a battle it would have been the battle of Hiroshima.
Boom. War over.

Good effort by Glenelg, I said 100 points prior to the match.
Dogs premiers again! Woooo sooo predictable.

Very disappointing. Didn't really play to the conditions. Body over the ball is what its about in these sort of games, and unfortunately we didn't do that. Fair bit of work to do. Lets not be lik North were after they lost the GF. Time to step up boys and back up a great 08!

The only battle here is the one to stay interested in SANFL footy.

the result was as expected although when the rain came in this morning i thought ''well you never know'' & was regretting backing central earlier in the week, i thought the only positive for glenelg was jim sellar i thought he was our best, it was his best game for a long while & he tried his guts out....we got smashed in the middle & i doubt we took a mark across half forward all day

Attendance 2820, and there didn't even seem to be that many there. Considering the weather, the game was on TV, and two other games on not too bad a crowd.
All up another brilliant win by the dogs. They didn't take their foot off the pedal from the opening bounce to the final siren. Brilliant four quarter effort. Glenelg were just plain shocking. Too often playing for free kicks, as evidenced when they gave away that 25 metre penalty when a free kick was awarded to Centrals, and a Glenelg player gave the ball to another Glenelg player (assuming it was his free kick). In the last quarter they simply capitulated, as Centrals ran riot kicking 8 goals to 1 in worsening conditions.
To kick 21 goals in those conditions (and 8 in the last when the conditons were considerably worse) was great. To kick straight in those conditions even greater.
Highlight of the day would be Havelberg's last quarter. That was brilliant.
