Will the Eagles continue on their winning way or can the Panthers turn it around?

I hope Clay can soon assemble the players he"thinks" will have the capacity to take us forward.
The coaching staff have surely in their minds realised those who need extended stays in the ressies and those who have the desire and ability to to at least be competetive in the league side.
If the coaching staff cannot get the players motivated to give their all on ANZAC day we are doomed!
The eagles have started off the season in good touch, and if we serve up the crap we did for three quaters against the dogs we will be in for similar treatment.
I really hope our last quater against the dogs will give us some impetus into the ANZAC day clash.
We are lacking a couple of talls and some hard midfielders,so maybe Tim Boyd and Leigh Ryan should get a run in the league side? Last year we showed some fight against the eagles and should have knocked the off at Noarlunga so I expect a much better effort this weekend.NO EXCUSES!!!

3pm? It's going to be pretty dark in the last quarter, particularly if it is cloudy.

message from our captain........

After two good wins in the last two weeks against last year’s Grand Finalist Glenelg and cross suburb rival Port Adelaide, it is fantastic that we are starting to build some real momentum into what is an important part of the season for us.

This momentum needs to continue and Ron has been emphasising the importance of our next challenge which is South Adelaide – The Panthers, home at Woodville Oval.

I can assure you that the players will not be resting on the laurels of the wins of the last two rounds. Complacency is not an option. We want our supporters to know that this is a big week for our Club, therefore we urge you to show your support in attending this Saturday’s home game against South Adelaide.

No doubt that this will be a great to way spend ANZAC Day - Woodville Oval watching your beloved Eagles as they battle it out against The Panthers! Being a Public Holiday there will be no shops open. The Barry Jarman Grandstand is available to sit in and we will also have a marquee behind the northern goals should you seek cover from any inclement weather.

If you hold a home match ticket or season ticket and are unable to attend, please give your ticket to family or friends so that they can attend and give us the support that you usually would!

As players there is nothing better than playing in front of your home crowd. We want to make Woodville Oval a fortress, no doubt this responsibility sits with the players but YOU CAN HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Thanks for your continued support. Hope to see you on the weekend.

Redden will miss 2-3 weeks with an ankle injury and Salter is out 6-8 weeks with a medial ligament. Glad it wasn't the ACL, but unfortunate timing for him given he would've been close to AFL selection.

I'd expect Staple to be promoted to play FF, but they might do as they did against Port and rotate Westbrook, Grocke, Miles and Dabrowski through there. Dawson may be a smoky to get a call up as Full Forward?

There's no hesitation from me going on the weekend - after all, I was there at the corresponding match last season! ;)

Perhaps, but rotating the full forward spot - I like that tactic. It's a long way still from Saturday, but I don't think we will be going in too tall.

Passador must be close......an obvious swap.....

Symmonds might come into consideration....

losing Redden is a massive blow to our ruck stocks......young Goss might replace Redden in the 2s

If passador plays it would be in the two's
Symmonds is carrying (or he appears to be ) to many injuries .

thinking more along the lines of young Hill.

Although I do think the Eagles will win, I do expect that recent events might put some sting into the SAFC playing group and I expect to see a lot closer margin that what was the case against Central. The one advantage perhaps of playing so poorly is that it can bring the other team into a sense of security which might be to our advantage if we can get our act together, if we come out and kick the first few, we could well win it from there - so the heart says anyway, yet the head says the Eagles by 4-5 goals.

Was thinking Hill and Cullen is not ready just yet but looks good.
I thought Dobber was getting beaten in the ruck. While Miles was doing everything from taps marks and roving his own ruck taps .Already Miles is leaps and bounds ahead of Roberts and Lee from last year a good find Ron. :D
To me Dawson is to small for FF at SANFL/AFL level but I have been wrong before ;) .Then again a roving FF line now that has some appeal and if a tall is at FF we need someone small at their feet .A cheep ,Double J, Cica Lane etc .

BUT the Eagles must play four quarters this week.It was written in the Dogs V panthers game .Panthers got the ball away from Centre more than the dogs .The Eagles must win first use of the ball and then ATTACK.Perhaps this from the Adelaide Now site is just as good "Adhering to Fuller's motto of "hunt, hunt, hunt" - which was written on the team's board "

Cheers

Dark as Bro. Double headers start at 3-20 and lights at venues are flicked on at half time!

Will lend my season ticket as will be in melb unfortunately.

Well, I expect it to be not far off the conditions seen in the corresponding match last year, so hunting will be needed more than ever when skills aren't likely to be as good.

Eagles Full Forward this week should be Staple, he has been in pretty good form in the seconds and is the obvious call up. Cullen does show a bit but is not ready. Sadly Passador is still a long way off min 3-4 weeks before he plays reserves so the succession plan needs to be activated. I think one of our guns may be missing for a few weeks so an onballer should get an opportunity as well this week. How can the Advertiser give Jacky 3rd best, he is improving but we had 12 better players than him on Sunday.
