Will West have a win or will Norwood bounce back

A lot depends on what game Norwood brings to the park, and also how much confidence West have gleaned from the Glenelg match.

On paper, Norwood by plenty, but the game isn't played on paper. Maybe that Norwood played on Friday night, and Westies played on the Sunday may be a factor, who knows?

Neither side will be much trouble for anyone come September.

be wary boys malwood have beaten south & port who have 1 win between them so far this season so i don't think malwood are certainties, if west attack for the whole game unlike today they can win ....having said all that i wouldn't back either team but i'll tip westies to win (presuming they ATTACK)

Well since this thread has been so busy I'm gonna jump in now while I can....

This game is there for Westies to take. With Matt Thomas now up before the tribunal for recklessly interfering with an umpire (LOL - looks like his opponent used the ump as a shield at the centre bounce), Nick Lower could be called up to replace him if he gets suspended. Lower has been one of Norwood's best players this year to date and with injuries to Trotter, Campbell, Coombes and the like he will leave a real hole if he gets selected.

Norwood have a lot to lose by dropping this game with the next three weeks seeing them face Central, have a bye and then Glenelg. If they take their 'form' against Sturt and North into this game and Westies bring the better bits of their game against Glenelg, West could do anything. They had height, pace and tackling pressure on display on Sunday as well as their chance to win the game, but couldn't get over the line in the end.

Westies can either take great heart from their performance vs the Bays and raise it to another level, or be devastated by the loss and take the wrong mindset to the game. Stephen Bailey and Robbie de Jongh will be keen to play good games against their old club. Norwood will need to be switched on all week and all game to make sure that their 'paper' team delivers on the day. Here's hoping the bigger ground at Richmond gives them the confidence to play with the same flair as at Encounter Bay the other week.

Bayman you have beaten Sturt, port and west (which you would be expecting to beat west by much much more) so between then they've only had 1 and a half wins between them.

The relevance is you have not beaten any premiership threats either, you struggled to beat west who lost to south who we beat by 15 goals. You beat port by 30 odd which we beat them by, You beat sturt in round 1 at home. Who then beat us in round 2 which means you have only beaten 1 top 5 side more than us. So making smart comments about who we have beaten is a bit rich.
Coverking my appologies it was meant to be written 2 and a half.

firstly it was not supposed to be a 'smart comment' as you've interpreted it....it was a form guide if you will that while at first glance most would assume that norwood would be very close to unbeatable & i was trying to put this game in my view that norwood may not be as in- vincible as most would think.....as for my mob i agree we're not playing well, our depth is ordinary & if they don't improve 500% we'll get smashed this week because our form is not much good & i saw central first hand last week & their already playing well & we could very well get what south got last week, infact i'm very tempted to back central at the $1.48 with sportsbet only i hate backing against my team but i had central 1/5 ($1.20) chances this week to win so as a punter i'm going to back them

Bayman trust me, alot of norwood supporters have already realised that we are not as good as what we thought we could have been. Not that i thought we were going to finish top. I did think top three, not anymore.

I can't speak for other Norwood supporters, but it seems a lot of opposition supporters appear to have had higher expectations for Norwood than I did. How we were going to be so much better without our key forward from 2008, I have no idea.

Glad this game is on ABC TV as I'll be in Melbourne over the weekend so I'll be able to tape it. If we play like we did in the 2nd qtr last week we have half a chance but sadly I can't see that happening. Will look forward to seeing how we go when I watch the tape.

Here is the Redlegs side from the SANFL:

F: Rowe Vlatko Phillips

HF: Terlich Rowe Rolfe

C: Donohue Gallagher Jericho

HB: Duigan Lee McGuinness

B: Puopolo Zorzi Young

RUCK: Doyle Massie Weatherald

INT: Tyrell Aish Littler Nitschke Ah Chee

IN: Ah Chee, Aish, Young

OUT: Lower (Power)

Who is Rolfe for Norwood ? I think this may be an error from the SANFL web site and may be Rolfe from South Adelaide ?

And Sam Rowe will be in for a tough day if he is named to play both CHF and in the pocket !!??

Maybe when the 5RPH League Teams show is on tonight, it will be confirmed hey ??

The SANFL site has corrected it:

Young and Davis in the back pockets, Puopolo allegedly in the forward pocket.

Terlich and Jericho on the forward flanks.

Hughes on the wing.

Any Norwood fans have any info on Young?
