First quarter was all Centrals, and despite being 48 points up, missed a couple of simple shots (15 scoring shots to 2) and could have been up by more.

The second and third quarters saw Centrals continue their procession, setting up a 93 point 3 quarter time lead.

Centrals then stopped in the last quarter, some sloppy skills and South made them pay for them, but it was too late, Centrals winning by 73 points.

All up the game went as expected, but Centrals can't afford to finish games as poorly as they did today. Against any other side a quarter that bad may have costed Centrals the match.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

You're right.

Westies do the same thing when they're 90 points up.

Really annoying ;)

I think you summed it up pretty well Bruce.

Happy with the form of some key players, Thomas, Havelberg, Mackenzie, Griffen to name a few. I now remeber why I hadn't been to a Centrals/South game for about 5 or 6 years. Aside from winning a dinner for 2 at the Sussex at half time, it was a pretty uneventful day at the footy.

You missed a goal, Spelly. Griffin kicked 2.0 not 1.1.

For mine the best players when the game was there to be won were Griffin, Havelberg and Sansbury. McKernan played well for south in the second half and some guys got some cheap touches but the dogs were a mile better on the day. Griffin will either play AFL very soon or will have a nice shiny medal later on in the year the way he's going.

They add up to 22, so I don't know which goal to take out! I've had a look through the commentary I made and can't work it out for some reason. ;)

That 7.7 (49) is the highest last quarter score by South at Elizabeth. Previously it was 6.8 (44) in Round 5 1966.

In fact, it's the 2nd highest quarter score at Elizabeth by South for any quarter. The highest is 8.4 (52), 1st quarter of the Round 5 1967 match.

I've worked it out after having another look, I had James Gowans down for 2.2, not 1.3.

And fanatstic to see Henderson start with a bang, love what this bloke has to offer. The Crows picked up a gem here IMO!

Even tho Central won by 71 points it was in the end a really disappointing effort.

Panthers can hold their heads high why you ask well it was not a bad performance considering 11 of their players have no experience in league footy
4 players 0 games, 1 player 1 game, 5 players 2 games and 1 player 4 games.

Well done panthers.

Very disappointing Doggies you should of smashed them by 20 goals plus.

I truly hope South can become a competitive outfit.

If you talk to certain people who are involved down there at the moment below the A grade level, they will tell you that things are now on the right track since they got rid of Cahill because he was too "gung ho"

What was he supposed to do? After all, what would John Cahill know about football?

South are not worthy of fielding a team in the league with this current group.
They are going no where and have been on the same course ever since I can remember with only fleeting finals appearances in the last 30 years.
Centrals were only average through out the day and yet won by 12 goals. A look at Souths reserves and there wasnt much to get excited about there either.
I dont know what the hell they need to do but if South dropped off the face of the earth would anybody care?
At least they wouldn't waste 2 weeks of my season turning up to watch a completely uncompetitive match.
Dont know what South need to do but something needs to change because they are an embarressment to the comp at present.
Note to ABC- stop putting them on the TV because they are not a good advert for our comp!
